My elephant ear is behaving veri strangely ..... it opens pretty well for a couple of days and then it keeps itself tightly closed for another few ... can someone tell me y ?

In yr last nite shot, are those called star polyps? I used to have a small pc, it was opening very nicely for the 1st few weeks. Then the the purple coraline that they grown on started dropping of pcs by pcs away from the rock. Also it doesn't open anymore Does yrs grow on rock or coraline
