Pomacanthus (Arusetta) asfur (Forsskal 1775), the Arabian or Crescent Angel. A fabulous beauty and centerpiece for very large systems.Full size angels should not be mixed with other full size angels, unless it is in a tank of at least 180 gallons. One of the more popular Angels, the Asfur angel with its beautiful colors, makes a beautiful and hardy addition to almost any fishes only Aquarium. This Angel also prefers a lot of various hiding places to retreat into; otherwise it might have problems adapting to its new home. The Asfur Angel has also been mixed with other Angels of the same demeanor with success.
Maximum Size: the Pomacanthus asfur grows up to 16 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Asfur Angel prefers a tank of at least 100 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Pomacanthus asfur is a omnivore and likes to eat veggies, meats, & sponge materials.
Level of Care: The Asfur Angel is a Medium maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Asfur Angel may act semi-aggressively toward other fish.
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F).
Range: Red Sea, Northeastern coast of Africa, Red Sea, and Gulf of Aden.
