Pomacanthus arcuatus, Gray 1831, the Gray Angelfish.Full size angels should not be mixed with other full size angels, unless it is in a tank of at least 180 gallons. A popular Angel, the Gray Angel is popular with Aquarists that want the same look as the French Angel, but want a different coloration. The Gray Angel has been kept successfully with other full size Angels, and juveniles will exhibit cleaning behavior in the aquarium picking off various Ecto-Parasites, just like its cousin the French Angel. |
Maximum Size: the Pomacanthus arcuatus grows up to 20 inches. Minimum Tank Size: The Grey Black Angel prefers a tank of at least 140 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Pomacanthus arcuatus is a omnivore and likes to eat veggies, meats, and angel preparations, sponge, algae. Level of Care: The Grey Black Angel is a medium maintenance fish. Behavior: The Grey Black Angel may act semi-aggressively toward other fish. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F). Range: the Caribbean, New England, Florida, Northern Gulf of Mexico, Bermuda, and south to Brazil. |
