Hardwicke Wrasse

Thalassoma hardwicke or the Six-Barred Wrasse is harmless to corals but will pick at ornamental crustaceans, snails, serpent stars, bristleworms, mantis shrimps and very small fish. Very flashy coloration of black tiger looking stripes on a metallic green to pearl background makes this fish an unusual addition to a fish only system. Needs planty of swimming room and will harass new fish introduced to the tank if they are smaller or close in shape. Best added as one of the last fish. Keep with larger and belligerent fishes. Offer love rock with many places for them to hide in at night or when frightened as they do not bury in the sand.
Maximum Size: the Thalassoma hardwicke grows up to 8 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Hardwicke Wrasse prefers a tank of at least 80 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Thalassoma hardwicke is a carnivore and likes to eat Variety of meaty treats including frozen mysis, saltwater feeder shrimp, squid, scallop clam and other crustaceans..
Level of Care: The Hardwicke Wrasse is a medium maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Hardwicke Wrasse may act semi-aggressively toward other fish.
