Sunset Wrasse
Thalassoma lutescens male
The Thalassoma lutescens or Sunset Wrasse is harmless to corals but will pick at ornamental crustaceans, snails, serpent stars, bristleworms, mantis shrimps and very small fish. Needs planty of swimming room and will harass new fish introduced to the tank if they are smaller or close in shape. Best added as one of the last fish. Keep with larger and belligerent fishes. Offer love rock with many places for them to hide in at night or when frightened as they do not bury in the sand.
Maximum Size: the Thalassoma lutescens male grows up to 12 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Sunset Wrasse prefers a tank of at least 80 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Thalassoma lutescens male is a carnivore and likes to eat Variety of meaty treats including frozen mysis, saltwater feeder shrimp, squid, scallop clam and other crustaceans..
Level of Care: The Sunset Wrasse is a medium maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Sunset Wrasse may act aggressively toward other fish.
