Two Spot Goby

Signigobius biocellatus

Gobies may sometimes attempt jump out. Needs places to burrow. Prefer presence of substrate. Often found in pairs. Also known as Crab-Eye Gobies. Are observed to share the same burrow on sandy bottoms near coral rubble or leaf litter. They feed by one sifting a mouthful of sand while the other keeps watch for danger. They confuse predators by flashing their eye spots while swimming in such a way to resemble a sideway walking crab.

Maximum Size: the Signigobius biocellatus grows up to 3 inches.

Minimum Tank Size: The Two Spot Goby prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.

Diet: The Signigobius biocellatus is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of foods, especially Mysis Shrimp, worms, flakes.

Level of Care: The Two Spot Goby is a medium maintenance fish.

Behavior: The Two Spot Goby may act peacefully toward other fish.

Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F).

Range: Indo-Pacific.

Breeding: Able to breed.
