  1. Thanks. Yeah that's what I'm afraid of as well. Total count, 45 removed. Didn't realize they multiplied that much !
  2. after doing an overhaul, i caught almost 40 of these, the pic are the 'bigger ones' ... now when i look at my tank, i just see around 5 or so ... throw these back or ? thanks
  3. hey terry, good info. can u post a pic of ur sponge ? some comments below, i'm really curious about how my tank is sustaining them : 1) The weekly dosing of bacteria - increase density of bacteria --> I don't, maybe just 1x/month 2) Good and strong flow - helps in removing dirt and detritus from the sponge --> My flow is not strong, maybe just good 3) Increase in food supply - helps in preventing starvation --> I don't dose any phyto ... 4) Maximize surface contact - help in stabilizing the sponge --> This one, i guess they're on their own, mine at least, bcoz they just keep growing everywhere ...
  4. My tank has been thriving with some sponges for about 2 years now, came to a point that I saw them as nuisance already as they are encrusting too much LRs and overan some Zoas previously, and started scraping some off. But they still continue to reproduce, I assume asexually. At one point my tank almost crashed and had to to a major revamp, but they still grow. Before only encrusting, and some look like small volcanoes. Now I also have those branching ... see some pics (mostly pinkish and darker pink?, I also recently saw one encrusting with seemingly orange color). The branches below are about 1.5 in height now. I still don't fully understand though what keeps them happy in my tank ...
  5. yeah bro ... haven't been active in marine quite some time, now just maintaining .... i'll pass by one of these days, can catch up. will message u
  6. hey cedric how have you been ? thanks. just checked, and they're gone .... been adoring your 'flowers' ...... !
  7. Hey bro, I share your sentiments. My tank is quite mature already, and have not made any new additions. But recently, suddenly my BT get itch. Was still eating very strong so I just thought it will survive. In 2 days, all got itch, quite fast - pair clowns, spot blenny, even my mandarin was acting weird (they don't get itch right?). I slowly tried doing little water changes. Within 3 more days, 1 BT, 1 clown, 1 mandarin, and blenny died. The other clown was strong, but after the pair passed away, suddenly look lonely and always in the spot where the other one laid when it died, stopped eating also after 2 days, also passed away. It's good that my other BT started eating strong again, and now seems fully recovered. Only one fish not affected, green clown goby. All LS with me for at least 1.5-2 years already .... now making sure system is really stable before any additions. My couple's tank now lonely singles tank ....
  8. Hi, ls help to ID, are these eggs ? Thanks.
  9. Wow Jacky ... Sounds like the mrt during rush hour, that's a lot ! Lol, my tank can play half court basketball 3 on 3, while yurs can organize a tournament ! I still have my same tank, almost decommed coz was not able to take care of it since late last year, I left the tank with my uncle's care, most of my corals perished ... but then recently thought of reviving it back, so had iwarna come in last week. So now up and running well, and will see how it goes from here.
  10. Wake up wake up kiko .... How's everything, any updates ?
  11. Yo Jacky, I'm back. How are you ... Updates ?
  12. just had my major battle last night on this. constant water changes still no effect for me after few weeks. as recommended dosed some amox, red slime on rocks quickly disappeared, but under sand (in glass) still spreading. some rocks start to have white patches, so dosed bac. finally, did overhaul last night, removed all sand, brushed and cleaned rocks, cleaned tank, and just tried going bb first. for now i can breathe a little better ...
  13. how ur anemone got shredded ? floated up to ur 6055 ?
  14. thanks guys. yeah they are thriving but too much. i already removed them previously, only to come back, encrusting rocks and melted quite some zoas alrdy. previously also encrusted super sun head, grew around it, then slowly the head melted away.
  15. hi, can help ID these ? the other one seems like a sponge but branchng, very brittle, easy to break off. the other one also look like sponge due to big holes here and there, also start to take over zoas. doing major work now so wondering what to do with these. thanks.
  16. i'm the one who's paranoid. as i mentioned, planning to go bb as well in the next few days after major battle. yes they should be distributed, depending on how your rocks weight is balanced, possibly that one point or a few points have heavier weight ? well with your 12mm maybe you're safe. as for me, i might just use a starboard, not as pretty as having really bare though, with the glass reflection and all. or maybe an acrylic sheet will do.
  17. thanks jacky. other than this (concern on rocks falling), i also read somewhere before of avoiding 'point-pressure' on the glass which some of the rocks may cause.
  18. thanks. got confused on how it looked. i thought you were using a starboard kinda thing instead of having the rocks directly on the glass, but wondered why it's black i thought it's not advisable to just have the rock on the glass directly ?
  19. oh ... i thought that black thing (since it seems smaller than tank bottom) is "inside" the tank where the rocks where standing on
  20. nice ... what's that black mat thing ur rocks are lying on ? ur bb on something, or just on the glass ?
  21. :groupwavereversed: wooohoooooo ...... as expected from jacky, technically planned well and neat :groupwavereversed: can't wait for the exciting part .... SCAPING .... jacky very experienced here D->
  22. well, it still is a couple's tank, so if VIA gra will help .... anyway, how to prepare and use the amox ? and it can make it's way under the sand ?
