  1. tigershark, i truely understand how u felt. there r simply too many arrogant n cocky fellas here, ah bengs n ah sengs thinking they hav superior knowlegde n experience in tis hobby n thus like 2 comment on certain forums which do not concern them at all. we call tis type of ppl kpo. 4 those who know i am talking abt them, do not bother 2 argue back. save your time, i am leaving tis place 4 good. AT, if u r reading tis, pls remove me from your club. there r other better websites where i can gain better knowledge on reef keeping. cheers to AT n tigershark.
  2. Fren, nobody is expecting charity here. u put up a sale n there's bound 2 b buyers tat come n go. I ask u 2 quote a price but u prefer me 2 offer. I offer at 50% of wat u paid, u said it's way off. I might b 1 of the buyers whom u said were expecting charity. Come on b realistic, how much u think it's fair? $500? $400? If I'm the seller in tis case, will u even offer $300? It is a used tank afterall, mind u! even any offers might sound absurd 2 u, but there's no need 2 pass tis type of silly comments.
  3. I think n I beleive he is looking at ard $400-$450. It's often the case 4 seller 2 sell something which is relatively new at a price close 2 the amount he paid. But 4 buyers, like wat killerwhale said, n I have 2 agree 2 wat he said tat regardless if it's a day or a mth old, it's still 2nd hand n there's no doubt abt it. He failed 2 understand tat even if someone is willing 2 offer $350, he will end up paying almost $450 including transportation which rather might as well buy a new 1. anyway, I wish him luck on his sales.
  4. Fuel, u r really a cocky guy(no hard feelings babe). Initially, u sort of laughed at me( u properly would have forgotten it ) n warned me that my tk will crack. Then, u confidently said that your tk will not crack as the water level is 10cm fr the top of the tk. Now, how could u simply compare your tk n mine w/o knowing my tk specifications? Next, u seems to be laughing at ai[k2]wan( correct me if I'm wrong ) for having a shallow clam tk. Let's see..... the ht of your tk is 18 inch...minus 10 cm fr the top n minus another 2 inches of DSB( I guess ), u left abt 29 cm of water level. Does that make a lot of difference from ai[k2]wan's tk? Once again, no hard feelings babe, cheers
  5. WRT ur 1st statement" but that is provided that the force is constant", may i ask wat will cause the force not to be constant? WRT ur 2nd"the volume of water is increased. And the pressure is not evenly distributed throughout the tank because the tank is not spherical", I will have to say sorry that I only agree partially. WRT ur 3rd"There will be high pressure points at the centre of each glass planes", I'm sorry I have to correct you. If you study thermodynamics, you will learn that pressure is higher at the edges of the tanks. Not trying to find troubles here, juz some discussions. cheers!
  6. hey fuel, remember me... u once warned me tat my tk will crack n u urself is using a 6mm tk.
  7. wat makes u think tat a 2ft 6mm tk got no problem whereas a 3ft 6mm will hav problem? if the 2 ft 6mm measures 2x1.5x1.5 n the 3ft 6mm measures 3x1.5x1.5, which 1 will carry more stress? Dun 4get, bigger surface area, lesser pressure.
  8. i miss it. when is it showing again?
  9. this is not the only wonder of scallops, wait till u get to see it sticking out it's very long "tongue". but u don't get to see that often. i had mine for abt 3 mths n i only see it once.
  10. tat's gonna b tough. i tried to lure tat fella but it was quite smart. in the end i had 2 stripped the whole thing. maybe someone out there has a better idea? good luck
