Hmmm.. I have a MACRO skimmer too. There is a lot noise coming from the air vent. I reduce the air flow by limiting the air going in and the noise is much better. As for water in the collection cup.. its pretty weird. Cos if you adjust the knob to restrict water flow, water will overflow out..

Just fyi. In case you need to find magnets.. I got 2 pieces for ten bucks about 5 cm diameter from sim lim tower level 2 just now. I think its rip from audio speakers... My tank coming next week, must start work already
