  1. Topic Marine and Aqua Fauna are at the same place; Farmway 1. And shuttle service is still available at White Sands Shopping Centre. As for Farmway 2, shuttle service at Tampines MRT station near DBS building has stopped for some weeks now. Hope this helps.
  2. Does anyone know what went wrong? Thanks in advance.
  3. Yes, I know ppm=mg/l but I don't think anyone mentioned that the initial result of the Tetra test kit is in ppm.
  4. The instructions come in a leaflet form in the box but for some strange reason the instruction regarding dividing the result by 4.4 is at the back of the box.
  5. Read the back of the box of your Tetra test kit. You're suppose to divide the result by 4.4 to convert it to mg/l.
  6. They were with me from 8 Feb to around 29 Feb...about 3 weeks.
  7. ...forgot to add. And there were no wounds, abrasions, cuts or bruises on their bodies when they died!
  8. Hi all. Very unfortunate! All my 4 lionfish died within days of each other. What could have happened? Water parameters are fine. The strangest thing is all my original inhabitants are still alive till now! 1 Yellow Goby, 1 Coral Beauty, 1 Banded Shrimp, some Hermit Crabs, some Trochus Snails and 2 rocks of mushrooms. All 4 Lionfish were eating very well until the day before they die. Each would stop eating and next day, dead on the sand bed and within days of each other! It is possible that they have been infected by some deadly freshwater diseases from the Goldfish and Mollies that I have been feeding them? Actually, this is the only cause of death that I can think of as all the original inhabitants are still alive! The last Lionfish died about 5 days back. Any thoughts? Anyone? Thanks in advance.
  9. Siaokia, Read my above post again...I just added the second paragraph after you replied.
  10. It's shedding its outer layer of "skin". "It is important to note that a thin membranous lining called a cuticle covers lionfish. Since lionfish are sedentary fish, the cuticle is used to protect the lionfish from settling organisms. In fact, lionfish will occasionally shed their cuticle to remove any unwanted hitchhikers. A shed cuticle looks like a large mass of whitish stringy mucus, and this shedding occurs when a lionfish just start flashing around the aquarium, trailing white stringy mucus behind it. Cuticle shedding is also a sign of improper health in lionfish, as stressed lionfish or lionfish kept in poor water quality will increase shedding behavior." Extracted from a website I can't recall!
  11. Wah!!!!! Bare hands! You can man, bro! Read that I have to feed them live feeder fishes like Mollies, Goldfish, etc etc. for about a month or so first before I wean them to market seafood. Will certainly update you later. Cheers!
  12. Sorry a little off topic. Did anyone see any Lionfish at Reb*rn? If you did, a lot or not? Thanks in advance.
  13. Ya, it's damn nice man! It is so nice that I didn't even ask if it has already started eating, how much is it, when did it arrive, etc, etc. I just took a pail and net it up! They are starting to eat like pigs today! Think I'll probably do a weekly 20% water change from now on. It's amazing watching them "inhaling" the goldfish and tiger barbs and there's a tendency to overfeed too! And that's not very good! Just bought an acrylic stick today. Will start weaning them to small market prawns and baby squids soon. Do you guys use some form of feeding stick to wean your Lionfish? Just wondering how am I going to attach the food to the stick. Skewering it is not secure, the prawn/squid will drop off leh.
  14. I've got a Radiata, Dwarf Zebra, Russelli and an Antennata in my 4 footer. Bought them on Sunday at Pasir Ris. Heard Radiata is hard to feed in captivity but it is the most outstanding Lionfish in the tank at the fish farm and I just had to have him. Luckily mine took its first Tiger Barb today during their first feeding! He's quite funny, he's been following my Hermit Crabs around since yesterday evening. Looks like he's figuring out a way to get them out of the shell and eat them!
  15. Caught the Lionfish bug too! Bought some recently and here's a pic of one of them....actually, two of them. A Radiata and a Russelli's head on the right hand side of the pic.
  16. Look like Diproctacanthus xanthurus (Yellow-Tailed Cleaner) but the yellow is more intense! Very nice specimens! Which LFS in Pasir Ris did you see them?
  17. Golee (marbles), tennis balls (hantam bola) and layang (kite)!
  18. Nicky, More Lionfish info available here too. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/lions&rels.htm
  19. Thanks DeepBlue, I'll go and recce this Sunday. Not driving so exploring on foot. Thanks again.
  20. No worries. Sorry hor, borrow your thread. Does anyone else know where exactly is Pacific Marine? Thanks in advance.
  21. Is this the one near Reef World? I've been to Reef World a couple of times but some how can't seem to be able to locate Pacific Marine. From the road facing Reef World, is Pacific Marine on the right or left or behind Reef World? Thanks in advance!
  22. nicky30092002, Which LFS in Pasir Ris did you see the Lionfish? Thanks in advance!
  23. Pic 3: Too obvious! Pic 4: 3rd car on right is going against traffic flow.
  24. Pic 1: Man's hand is on woman's butt in the reflection. Pic 2: Man cutting his own hand.
  25. Tanzy, those are the biggest b*lls I've ever seen! Hmm.....thought it's some kind of nuisance Bryopsis too. Any positive ID anyone please? Should I pluck them all out or leave them alone? And I mean the macroalgae!! Thanks in advance.
