  3. Hi There , If any reefers out there looking for reasonable priced fish please contact me at 9 011 0420. All feeding on Pellets , Nori and Brineshrimp. 12 fishes left angels and tangs. Need to clear fish only tank for larger reef arriving.
  4. Antennarius maculatus is the species or also known as the "frogfish" yeah.....one way of getting rid of pesky little damsels is to introduce this little fella in! I wonder theres one big enough to rid mantis shrimps hiding in LR's
  5. Scopas shouldn't cost that much as I got a good medium size one for only $5.XX and the Naso shouldn't be less pricy as well. $18.XX is kind of high though
  6. Hi MarlinD , Coral Beautys are the ones that are picky and will normally pick at polyps and sponges which are mainly their diet in the wild. The shop normally has never fed it and probably don't even know if it is eating. Have you tried live brine shrimps yet?
  7. you should try and keep one Dispar and not rely on what the web says all the time. If I am keeping it well then I am sure there are other reefers out there who has one too.
  8. I got mine from PXXXXXX MXXXXX once a upon a time , a long , long time ago! I have 2 rock beauties! It's been 2 years since I first bought the 1st one and the other I got recently. PXXXXXX MXXXXX not only brought them just weeks when you were there too as they have been bringing in Rock Beauties for a long time now. Ask the boss and he will tell you how long I've been a customer to them. I always thought they were hard to keep but they are a piece of cake! I think a 6 x 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 . with alot of water movement and an ozonizer will do the trick. Right now I'm getting the new one to jump for Nori , like a dolphin! It's an expensive fish but I always get a good price No trouble keeping two in a tank either.
  9. he he he he , so how else are you going to plan to keep a fish for that long then? Would you abandon them once they reach a nice size? Of course you have to upgrade. oh boy! only a serious reefer would do that and you're writing to one.
  10. Heres my blue ring juvenile. It's one of the simplest but awesome in appearance.
  11. The best way of clearing copper from your tank is a good scrub down with warm water. Don't try filtering it with activated carbon or polyfilters because it just wouldn't do a thing. If you want to keep invertibrates back again then a scrub down is a must.
  12. they don't grow to prehistoric sizes if thats what you mean. It would take a long time before they ever reach a size too big enough for your tank
  13. mine is feeding on Nori and doing really well at the moment. Just got it from PXXXXXX MXXXX for a very good price and started eating right away. So it's not that hard to keep them. The Coral beauty even though cheaper is alot more picky!
  14. yes , I heard about that too! They even have Japanese glass when I enquired about my 6 x 2 x 2 1/2 overflow tank! Theres even glass from Europe as well. We're spoilt for choices. Just don't pay attention to where it comes from and make sure your glass has the proper thickness which is more crucial. My brother -in - law had this huge tank for years and all of a sudden it started to spurt water at the sides! I certainly don't want that to happen to me!
  15. yes , there is! Take a taxi straight there West Coast use to be my favorite haunt as SXX LXXX brought in quite a bit of live stock then.
  16. water changes always makes the difference but you don't want to add anymore extra nutrients when you do that so the RO/DI rids your tapwater into miracle water! but if you can't afford such a unit then the next best thing is distilled water. No matter how much you filter and let your fresh tap water sit , theres always going to be an algae bloom or diatoms going off in your tank. Just got my RO / DI unit and my headaches have finally left me it's worth the cost.
  17. I think distilled water would be more advisable to rinse in as the probes are very sensitive. It should not be left dry in any case and as next reading will be not be accurate enough. Remember to clean your probes every 2 weeks and you won't be stuck with problems later on. Happy probe buying
  18. if it's eihem , then you don't have to worry The impeller I was refering to is the rotating shaft in all pumps. Some have rubber which are meant for freshwater and the ceramic ones for marines. Yes , it's good enough for a 16g reef tank. I'm using two for mine on both ends.
