  1. really brought back my memories 17 years ago.....hmm but back then our version was slightly different, we had an extended version on PTIs with hokkien expletives #^#%@#
  2. yup, I have seen bubbles there too....but better keep the location to yourself.....
  3. agree with this, thats why I laugh it off and don't really blame him I take this as a lesson learnt
  4. blur me, after looking at the map, I realized I was also another victim at least now it solves my puzzle as to why the corals I have bought on another forum did not survive in my tank. Damn, should have insisted on viewing before collection
  5. Hi, as above Planning a trip to Hong Kong, any idea where in Hong Kong/Kowloon area I can find a good collection of Astroboy stuff on sale? Thanks
  6. interesting...actually I learnt to use WD40 when I was attending a course in ###### agree with you that if it is not clean off properly, it may cause some problems. there is also 1 thing i learnt as respect to removing carbon fast, oiling the chamber thickly with the supplied rifle oil before firing, will not work I still remember those days when me and my peers spent many sleepless nights struggling with the weapons and yet still failed by the armourers But nowadays during my NS in-camps, notice that weapons maintenance and inspection has been taken over by technicians from Singapore Technologies. As a result, weapons are of better quality(lesser IAs) and cleaniness standard required by the ST armourers are more reasonable Privatisation is good, credit must be given to our army for the improvement
  7. yes, WD40 is the best. Spray abit into the barrel and bolt carrier area etc before firing. Not too much otherwise there will be a lot of WD40 fumes when you fire... After firing spray again, you'll find that you can clean off the carbon easily. But do oil your weapon with rifle oil after cleaning, do not use WD40 as anti-rust, you'll regret Always does this during reservist in-camp, who cares about commander
  8. just my worthless 2 cents.. and can be disregarded since my number of posts is so low... Last year I hired a NUS engineering graduate. He has 2nd upper class honours, very soft spoken, shy and at times seems unable to express himself very well. I hired him anyway since I thought I needed someone who can work and not talk communication skills can be trained anyway. After working with him for a while, I observed that he would avoid at all costs face to face talk with me and would rather send email instead. His seat was less than 10m from mine. Most interesting part of it is, from his email, I observed that he is a very 'assertive' person, using very strong words when expressing his views etc. I am really amazed at his totally different character when talking and writing. My point is, our younger generation is overly dependent on electronic media, so much that they have lost their confidence and ability to communicate with each other face to face and would rather hide behind the computer terminal..... well...the case of this secret buyer may not be similar but its just my thoughts arising from this incident....
  9. ya, my old pair still going strong after 10 years, thats why I thought of selling away this pair of spare fins....
  10. thanks bro.. just found out that Richmond is giving a special offer on the jet fins now.... I can further reduce the price if anyone is interested.... . It looks almost as good as a brand new pair.....
  11. Hi for the divers out there... thinking of selling my scubapro jet fin(not the split fin, thats a twin jet), size XL, suitable for shoe size 9 or bigger. It is my spare set of fins, used for less than 20 dives, still in good condition. selling at $110, self collect at Pasir Ris Street 11. will also give away a pair of booties(used) for free.
  12. got mine from NTUC home services website, can't remember the company name. but the guys who came to replace my storage heater were extremely helpful, they help me clean off wall stains caused by the old and leaking heater drum(took him at least 15mins). Also helped me check all my water taps' water pressure, even help me clear a tap blockage IMO always safe to get an accredited supplier like the above
  13. I got some enquiries asking me what is Gmail.... Gmail is an email service offered by Google. It has 1 gigabyte of mail storage space, which is much bigger than any other free email server, for eg. Yahoo, unless you register with Yahoo China, which also offers 1 G. This Gmail service is not open to public, and is only given out by invitation only. Upon registration, you will get an email address like xxxxx@gmail.com
  14. 16. 3ft lights sold. 2ft lights still available, reduced to S$3 6 fans still available, take all remaining 6 fans at $2 each
  17. I had a similar encounter 10 years ago while night diving at Manado, still remember the dive site's name - black rock. Me and my buddy was at around 15m when we saw a solo diver swimming below us, without a torch light, at a depth of around 70 to 80 m at least we were very sure there are no other dive boats around....and we don't remember seeing him blowing out any bubbles at all....
  18. hmm...well not exactly . While the 3 pin plug is fitted with a 13A fuse (grossly overrated for it to provide any protection at all, imo), you have to take into consideration the current rating of your circuit breaker, wires etc. Best bet is of course get a qualified electrician to check for you, the least you can do is at least isolate the high consumption appliances..eg. chiller, MH lights etc.
  19. yes, overloading is definitely a problem, be very careful with this. If your plug and wires feel warm(or even hot) when you touch it, then it is severely overloaded. This is potentially dangerous and should be avoided. Whether you are overloading or not depends on the type of wire used(the wire's current rating), the type of fuses you have, and the current rating of your MCB(miniature circuit breaker). If you are really lost with all these terms , one easy way is to always isolate the power hungry appliances, for example your chiller and your lighting(that is if you are using hundreds of watts of ligthing...)
  20. still available 2ft light reduced to $4 3ft FL light reduced to $8 per light, take both for $15 self collect at my place in Pasir Ris
  21. oops, its 25W per tube, definitely not suitable if you are keeping reef. But you can use the lighting housing to DIY your own T5 lights cheers
