If you use controllable Tunzes like 6000 or 6100 you should be ok for a 2 feet cube but I would advise against a 6080 or any non-controllable Tunzes in a tank your size unless you deflect the flow and make sure none of your SPS is in the direction of your Tunze flow. (which is difficult for a 2 feet tank.......space is a premium... ) SPS can take very strong flow but not constant one direction. If your Tunze pulses the strong flow only come intermittently and this the SPS can take. Non-controllable Tunzes don't have this option and you end up with SPS pulverised with the one directional strong flow for hours. Then the tissue will go. The key to flow for SPS is random flow. Strong random flow will be the best but random is more important. BTW a Tunze 6000 will be good enough for your tank.

Try only lah. No guarantees. From my experience it does help, coz i stop dosing anything for 5 months and when I restart the dosing regime, can see difference.

I think could be the introduction of Beckett skimmer. The sudden reduction in nutrient in your water sometimes causes your SPS tp turn lighter colour. Due to the high skimming of the Beckett, I suggest you do small water changes every week to replenish trace elements and try and dose amino acids and iodine. I don't know they help but I do see my SPS colours get richer after dosing for 6 weeks.

Yup been dosing (again) for 6 weeks. I do see generally thickening of coral tissue and overall improvement in coral appearance, improve colour vibrancy........ but it could be my eyes seeing what I want to see....... .......but definitely some positive effect......and so far no negative effect if dosed correctly. Got my Salifert Amino Acid from Polyart. It think Marine Life and Ocean Planet also carry the product.

I'm following the dosing regiment of one tank from RC which I really really admire. JB_NY's tank. And I find that dosing does improve the overall health and coloration of the corals. Will be running ozone soon too...

Just serviced my chiller 3 weeks ago after using for 1 year. And the amount of dirt caught at the condenser (I think, the things with the fins) is incredible. Totally clog up. The service guy also did back flush and everything, top up gas.......and now the chiller is definitely more efficient. Just monitor the chiller run time, if it gets longer then maybe it's time to service. I think he say outdoor chiller every 6 to 9 months, indoor chiller every year.

First and foremost, you must get rid of your bio balls and corals chips. These are major nitrate factories as they are very efficient in the ANN cycle. This is due to the fact that they have large surface area for bacteria to colonise hence they convert Ammonia to Nitrite to Nitrate very fast. Then follow what roidan has posted, you should be ok. Also if possible, increase the flow in your tank to prevent dead spot as they collect detritus which will also eventually contribute to your nitrate.
