  1. have 2 sets of 5-6 polyp frags for exchange with other nice zoas ... kindly post pics of actual zoa frags for trade... i will decide which zoas interest me most and let u know.. actual pics please follow link ---green people eater pics
  2. softies like mushroom and zoas have whitish edges n slime more when near my hammer... they still reproduce n grow... my blasto n bubble n moon coral seems to have no problem when hammer coral touches them... plate coral in my recent experience is the most deadly... my hardy moon coral was sat upon one night gone already... the other 3 frags downcurrent of the plate also slowly recede n day in a few days..NO CONTACT and more than 10cm away...think the moon coral slime made the plate coral release a whole lot of stinging cells..luckily nothin else affected... read up the attached link..quite useful n easy to read. These corals are usually found on the substrate of a reef tank. By the way, plate corals can let off slime loaded with nematocysts if they are disturbed. This can be a problem, as the slime floats around the tank, and eventually lands on a coral, sometimes killing it. -- reeforg link
  3. U may think of it as a quarantine period too...many sponges on LR, esp from LFS die-off easily in the tank..its starts off slowly, and hard to realise... one more thing is pests... i thought i got rid of all 6 hairy crabs 3 yrs ago but now find a few still...latest addition of LR were properly inspected so shld be from my own old rocks...best way check for pests is in unstocked tank..maybe rocks were cleaned of aiptasia by fish/ livestock in previous owners tanks...bits and particles still in pores of LR...if u epoxy a nice blasto to rock then 2 weeks later see it surrounded by 8-10 aiptasia then more hard to eradicate...inject kalk/lemon juice blasto will bleach abit or burn..water not stable hurt coral sure gone in 3 days when fish start disappear, corals start falling face down n die then sad... got missing corals due to crabs...take ur time n not rush--although i did ! rushing in this hobby will cause u more heartache, think 2 weeks is quite a reasonable time...better than not cycling right ? now no discipline, when start stocking up and visiting lfs will have its negative effects like buying an unknown (to u) coral and have it sting ur lovely corals... or a fish that nips ur LPS to death... even fish has individual personality to observe n choose from a tank ( whether it was previously a bully or being bulied etc ) ... there are also things like ich that still survive for a period in the tanks on LR/ LS without fish...add fish before the parasites die-off will not show immediately...when ur fish start feel stressed, then the problem surfaces... no hurry IMO...i used to buy corals with plenty of LR / filter plumbed in, fish added 2nd day, when started setup no cycling lost quite alot of stuff..filter (natural on LR/hangon/canister) needs to be adjusted gradually...like acclimatising fish ? bacteria cant process ANN-cycle fast enough to cope overnight..even small spike of ammonia will stun inverts/shrimps first...as unconditioned and diff parameter water used for WC-- unstable n sudden fluctuations have high risk of/ cause loss of LS or lower their immune system in the long run..
  4. whats the size bro?? any chance of pic of whole colony to see its shape ?
  5. no experience with the others except matrix carbon--bad... matrix carbon more like many broken pieces than standard size pellets...many powdery particles...need rinse many times...easily break apart and slip out of 1mm hole media bags and my red sea prism media basket...uneven size... going back to brightwell carbonit-P...nice standard size...last longer and very obvious better clarity in tank all other things being equal..using same amount..
  6. super tough sps---3mths on and growing slowly but surely...just fragged out 1cm tip from original frag last week... hope new plating monti and blue digitata do well too...
  7. yupz..more n more flurorescent...multiplying... regards to breeder box-- if at the sides, the lighting not intense enough for chaeto... i check on my shroom frags often,,they are placed just below the chaeto on 1mm-3mm coral sand...the chaeto shades them... i can use a small cup to flush excess slime by mushroom frags when needed......i often use tweezers rearrange the frags as snails and six-lined wrasse allowed to enter breeder box for cleaning and pest ctrl...intentionally place box below waterline...my hydor K3 helps circulate water behind the rocks at the back of the tank so boxes will affect flow i presume.. more on ease of checking my frags...currently sacrifice outlook...hope to attach a 2 ft frag tank/ refugium beside this tank soon...
  8. Finally decide to show my tank after 5 mths of transfer from 2 ft tank.... kinda satisfied with this scape... all comments welcome...

  15. another pic..not selling my baby yuma...
  16. clearer pic...plus basic care.. Plate corals should be placed on a bed of sand or fine pebbles and you may want to block them in position by moving small rocks near the coral, this will prevent your plate coral from inflating and trying to drift away. Maintaining proper calcium levels at around 420ppm will help the plate coral build and maintain its calcium skeleton. Good lighting is required as it is a photosynthetic creature. Flow must be adequate enough to gentily move its tentacles.
  17. think T5 HO "whitest colour" ard 6000k ? anyways, think this plant light should be the warmest T5HO available....?? what u using 2700k for ? 6000k white T5 HO ==> wanna try this ?? focused output LED 2700k 2700k led ?
  18. only looking for these 3 types of snails...no other types wanted... TRADE with my luminous green ST plate coral... luminous green plate coral--short tentacled but still aggressive to corals less than 5cm from it...moves around so need use rocks taller than 3 cm to barricade it... it moved to sit on my green moon coral frags and immediately overnight gone... 2 frags less than 5cm but not touching also doing poorly now... very nice green--very luminous under 14k and above lighting...BUT AGGRESSIVE...thats y letting go... do not try in a pico/ nano/ packed tank, i'd advise... would like to deal at my place bedok north ave 1 blk 550.... let u witness its health...not responsible for any negligence on ur part during transportation..because like bubble coral, rough handling will damage its tissue.. picture taken under 1x ati aquablue special/ 1 x aquablue plus - 50/50 sms 96405360
