  1. Going to put my new tank in my bedroom soon. anybody else have theirs in their bedrooms?
  2. Yah need help with regards to the above 2. I like them but not sure will they be eaten by the sixline wrasse. Thanks
  3. My tank was full of them 3 days after putting tub of chaetos that I got from xersion into my sump. Bought a pair of mandarins yesterday from Henry about 1 week after they appeared. Less than 24 hours cannot see a lot of them liao. Hope there's enough of them in the tank so that the pair wont go hungry. Anyone know where got sell copepods just in case?
  4. Can post prices of the individual books? Cos I have one of them liao.
  5. My star polyps were doing fine when one day only about half of the polyps came out and then for the next few days lesser and lesser polyps appeared until the polyps began to stop coming out. The purple base of the polyps even began to recede and shrink, I thought it was going to die and melt away. My water flow is moderate while I'm using 250W MH by the way. I sat on my sofa wondering what was wrong with it since it has been blooming ever since I bought it when suddenly I saw my sixline swim past it and took a quick nip at it before swimming away. I quickly took my star polyps and put it in the sump. 3 days later under 18W 6500k Philips energy saver refugium lights the polyps are coming out again. But I think I am gonna have to let it go since I love my sixline.
  6. Sorry the reflector is not the large one but the small one. Price drop to $200. Can contact me at 96411268
  7. Its a 250W MH fixture, not 250k. Looking for a 4x39w T5 lightset if anybody wants to trade for it.
  8. ah thanks for the headsup reddevil. but if i just pulled them off the rock or scrapped them off while they are still in the maintank will the toxins affect the fish or corals in the tank?
  9. Selling away my MH light as I have a change of plans. Originally wanted to do a mixed reef but decided to change to a LPS only tank. The set is by DE lightings. 250k with a large diamond reflector for better dispersion of the lights. Used 14K single ended BLV bulb included. Fixture is attached onto a 3ft rack. Magnetic ballast. Looking for $220. No pics though. Interested can PM me. Thanks Patrick
  10. that particular big rock is sort of a base for the whole rockscape in the tank. thats why i was wondering if i can just scrap the palys off the rock while the rock is in the water. i read somewhere that says zoanthids contain toxins and im not really sure if the palys are some sort of zoanthids.
  11. Can someone help me here. A particular liverock that I got off a fellow forummer began sprouting green palys/zoos couple of days after I put them into my tank. At the beginning I loved them as they were the centrepiece in my tank during the cycling period but now frankly I find them an eyesore. I want to get rid of them. Would pulling them out at their base be effective? Or do I have to use a scraper to scrap off their base? Thanks
  12. bro MarCel: thanks for the offer. You are very kind. Just got a tub off bro xersion earlier . bro xersion: yup i did what you said. there isn't really a lot of scrapped algae in the box though. they must have got trapped in your filter. thanks for the free chaetos. i hope that it will thrive in my sump. i shall name it xersion in honour of its previous owner.
  13. Done up the refugium light yesterday. Anybody got any chaeto to sell? Really need to bring down the level of nitrates in my tank. Preferably West area. Thanks patrick 96411268
  14. My current mh light's (delighting) ballast is magnetic one and the wire cable to the current plug is pretty short. Does anyone know or can recommend a place where I can change the ballast to an electronic one? I do not dare to change it myself as I am an absolute idiot when it comes to technical/electrical stuff.
  15. I'm getting a marine tank from a fellow reefer soon. Its size is 3X2X2. The tank will be housing LPS, SPS various fishes and invertebrates and tridacnid clams. The lighting system I'm looking for will be MH plus 2 T5 lights that are on the hood. The question I would like to ask is would 2x150 watt or 1 x250 or 2x250 be the best for the tank? Im afraid 2x150watt the light would be insufficient for the SPS and the clam and im afraid 2x250 the light would be too intense and "burn" some of the corals. Yet a single 250w mh would not be able to fully light up the ends of the tank. I'm hoping 2x150w with the addition of the 2 T5s would be sufficient for the tank though. Anybody willing to share their views?
