Please can you suggest which out of the two is a better hang-on-back skimmer that I can install in my 48 gallon semi-reef tank. ..(I do not have a sump) Should I go in for the Via Aqua skimmer or the Red Sea Prizm skimmer? Weipro is also available but I do not know if it is hang on back. Other high-end skimmers are not available or are expensive in India. Please suggest Thanks. Sanju

  12. Thanks Friends, I have shortlisted the Dymax (X30Nano or VS10 model) and Red Sea Prizm Deluxe. The rest of the suggested skimmers are not available in India and the available ones are pretty expensive. Now, I need your help. From the Dymax (X30Nano or VS10 model) and Red Sea Prizm Deluxe, what do you suggest for my tank before I buy. Thanks a lot.
  13. Thanks Bro. Please can you suggest/recommend a model for the Dymax skimmer which would suit my tank.
  14. Thank You. I will check the availability of the Aquamedic Biostar Flotor in India. Meanwhile before I buy the Prizm, I would like to know, if this would fit externally as a hang on back on my tank, given the wooden hood that I have in the picture. Secondly, does the Prizm overflow from the cup and flood the floor with water?

  17. My 48 gallon FOWLR...Please rate/comment to make this better....
  18. I have the following fishes: 1. Brown Tang (One) 2. Blue Ring Angel (One) 3. Electric Blue Damsel (One) 4. Blue Carpet Anemone (One) Live Rocks I feed the fishes twice a day with Nutrafin flakes. Thanks,
  19. The Red SeaBerlin Air-Lift Protein skimmer not working as per expectations. Please can you help advice a solution to this problem? · I had purchased and installed the Berlin Airlift 60 (240 litres) skimmer approx. 4 weeks ago. The skimmer is connected to a new EHEIM 3704 Air Pump which is 400 litres/hour. I have connected both the outlets of the airpump using a connector to the Red Sea wooden airstone which was supplied with the skimmer. My FOWLR Tank is 47.97 gallon and approximately 5 months old. · I have also kept the skimmer at the Water Level market indicated on the skiimer. · As you see in the pictures below, The skimmer just foams only white bubbles ocassionally in the collection cup and does not produce any dark skimmate. · The surface of the water is agitated using a 2 powerful powerheads and hence the water near the water level marker keeps fluctuating sue to the surface waves generated by the powerheads.
  20. Many Thanks. So are you suggesting that I but a skimmer (air-driven) and the airstone used in the skimmer will be fine to oxygenate the water. In this case and I place the powerhead horizontally near the water surface (instead of pointing to top and causing exploding bubbles on the surface?)
  21. Hi Friends, I have a 50 gallon saltwater tank with only few Fishes, 1 Carpet Anemone and Live Rock. The tank is powered by a EHEIM 2213 filter and a submersible AZOO 1200 litre/hr dual submersible filter pointed to the top of the tank just below the water surface.(http://www.azoo.com.tw/azoo_en/modules.php?name=Product_Review&bkid=208) Advice Required: 1. Is an airstone really required in the saltwater aquarium? or will the above arrangement with the AZOO powerhead be sufficient to provide adequate dissolved oxygen through surface agitation? 2. What is the best height to place the powerhead at the surface of the tank for good oxygen supply? Should it splash the water like a fountain or just create ripples? 3. Any other recommendation to provide good oxygen level and avoid having microbubbles throughout the tank Please advice. Thanks, Sanju
