is the 60w maxspect sufficient for the tank? i've ordered the 110w for a similar sized tank. hope it's not overkill! -

actually i thought they have bigger size ones than irwana. was at irwana ytd morning though.. maybe you were there earlier. don't really wanna compare since both of them are sponsors of this forum.

Hi all. I have the following 2 items for sale.
1. DE-lightings 150W MH e-ballast. Used for about a year, still good as new. Energy saving and better driving of your MH bulb to produce better light output. Less heat produced by this compared to traditional ballasts. - $80
2. DASZ 14000K MH bulb. Used for an hour. Found it too yellowish for my liking. Should be able to provide some good growth rate in exchange for colour rendition. - $30

With the Sapphire skimmer, how often do you change water?
What is the impact before and after using the skimmer?
I am also considering buying this skimmer. However, it is not cheap.

I have a very heavily loaded tank. lots of fish and corals, including normal suns, black suns and super suns. So you can imagine the amount of food i dump in the tank everyday. The skimmer works pretty well, giving me a cup of scum every 3 days. I'm still changing water every week, but that's not because I need to, but I want to. If you are stocking your cube normally, I think you can go a month or more without water changes. I have tried mine going without WC for about 3 weeks. Everything still looks fine but I try not to take the risk nowadays. Especially after I went overzealous feeding the suns and ensuring the mandarin gets the frozen brine shrimps. Try it, you will like it, i sure did. Just a gentle reminder that the voltage for the pump is for 110V supply, so make sure you have a voltage converter before plugging it in.

hehe just came back from GO on new years day. Alot of very nice corals. Blastos, red and metallic blue, LOTS of red and blue mushrooms, lots of torch, hammer, frogspawn, elegance, SPS, 3 blue zoos left.. TONS AND TONS of zoos, BUBBLE CORALS (BIG/MEDIUM) and LOTS of frogspawn.Best is dun go LFS during CNY eve... Let ppl have rest mah haha =x Also, i think during new year period the LS all they want to clear so sell cheap, maybe all ppl buy liao. U can try if u wan... I try not to buy LS during cny. wait mati then suay suay lol
Eh.. i thought you said shouldn't go and buy stuff during CNY? should let people rest? Hope your recently bought livestock from GO don't up lorry (aka mati or die) during the CNY.

still waiting for my 110w G2 from dr evil. can't wait to switch out my MH that's causing a heat wave in the house!
