  6. There has been quite abit of interest specifically in the ATS. Unfortunately that looks to be the only item interesting the fellow forumers here. With this in mind, I will give priority to the person who is not just interested in the ATS, but also other equipment. Pls PM your interest. Thanks
  7. picture of the ATS can be found in this link. The exact same T5 lights, and the same acrylic box.

  16. I have one used 1262, bought from a fellow forumer. PM me if interested with the price.
  17. im glad to say this: Fin rot on both yellow tangs have stopped. The fins are in fact growing back now. The larger one is almost fully recovered, while the smaller one is only recently starting to grow back all the fin parts. They seem to be healing fast now. Just the other day the smaller one was pinched by the boxer shrimp, and the wound recovered within 2 days.
  18. well-thought out. You must have also considered this at some point in the past. Thanks for the heasdup, but i suck at electrical stuff, so most prob will have to rely on forumer's recommendation on who can do all the fan wiring, exhaust piping etc etc. Any lobang??!
  19. that simple solution costs alot. unless a 1264 comes into the market at affordable prices. and then the need to construct an external housing?shelter of sorts to house the chiller in the planter area, and finally not forgetting the need to drill a hole through the planter window to accomodate the piping. all in i think around 400 bux???? siong manz and i have been given a 1 month deadline to settle the warm exhaust problem in the living room....
  20. I bought over the 1/4 chiller from a fellow forumer, and placed it in front of my tank. I could have placed inside the cabinet but Im afraid it just generates too much heat when kept inside. In its current position in front of the tank (the rear of the chiller about 45cm away from front of tank), its dissipating quite a fair bit of heat to the surrounding area. I have an outdoor planter area (its about 4.5m x 1.0m sized area which is sheltered on the top, but not on the sides) with some plants in there. The wife's complaining the heat generated by the chiller is making the living room area warm, so Im thinking to relocate the chiller to this planter area. The other dimensions/ considerations as follow. - Chiller is Arctica 1/4hp - Dedicated Chiller Pump EHEIM 1262 - Distance from planter area to tank (8m) - Planter Area is separated from living room (where tank is housed) via full-height windows Off the top of my head, Im wondering if the 1262 provides sufficient flowrate to pump water via the sump across 8m to the chiller and back (roundtrip distance approx 16m?, and including some twists and turns along the way). In the current setup, the eheim is connected directly to chiller, but can see the outflow from chiller is not fantastic. I thought 1262 has flowrate of 3400l/hr? Seems a little underpowered, or the chiller is slowing down the flowrate drastically. Also Im not sure if i can cut open a hole in the window so that the piping to chiller can go through that hole in the window? Anyone has such experience?
  21. I found 2-3 huge bundles of cotton wools in the sump tank. These look like full of detritus (and i suppose high nitrate content). I dumped them away. at the same time yesterday, did another large WC (around 80% this time). Water turned cloudy for next 2-3 hours after WC due to the amount of detritus stirred up in the sump). End result though is good - water now is in pristine (almost) condition: pH - 8.2 Ammonia - 0 Nitrite - 0 Nitrate - 20 Phosphate - 0.25 Salinity - 1.023 Finders crossed the days of lousy water is over.
  22. I have bought some rudimentary pipings for the DIY algae scrubber project. i suppose once this is up (and running properly), the PO4 and NO3 levels will come down.
  23. Okay tons and tons of it is just exaggerated (slightly). but i do have lots and lots of LR. Theres this LR formation all the way up to the overflow, and its large enough to house all the inhabitants during lights off. I think the inhabitants favour it because its quite a "dead" zone. there might be one or two dead fish rotting away in there, but the LR mass is really quite huge, so not easy to access to the bottom portion. i have tried wavemakers but they just cant reach the corners/ dead spots in there. ah ha! maybe the problem started because once my wavemaker came off its suction cup and ended up blowing directly onto the sandbed creating this huge crater. Think that was 2-3 weeks back. perhaps that caused the ammonia/nitrate spike. or maybe not.
