  1. Ric yumas & florida will take pellets and mysis.
  2. Looks like your wavemaker is shifting your sand quite a bit.
  3. Can show a photo of your diy di unit will try and troubleshoot for you.
  4. BTW I am enclosing a picture of the unit I am using. Bought from madpetz. As mentioned earlier one cartidge of resin is giving me an average of 100 litres of 0 TDS water. I will change the carbon once the volume of 0 TDS drops to about 50 litres to a cartridge. The volume of 0 TDS obtained will of course be affected by the TDS of the tap water. My tap water has a reading in the range of 70 - 90 TDS.
  5. I have a cabon cartridge followed by resin cartridge. As suggested by pcw a 5 mocron filter will be good. As for Yukok and who do not use carbon yes can also achieve 0 TDS. Research have indicated that chlorine and chloramine will cause the resin's effectiveness to be depleted faster. The carbon is meant to be a prefilter to remove them so that the resin will give you more 'mileage'. But then again the community is divided on this and the debate goes on. I have no answer why the TDS went up after going throught the resin. Maybe others can offer some insight.
  6. You may still have to watch your zoa over the next few weeks for those you missed. and also in case some eggs that went undetected.
  7. No need to rinse resin. The flow rate will have to be very low to achieve 0 TDS. I adjust mine to a trickle and collect the water in a container overnight. I collect about 6 litre overnight and TDS 0. One small cartridge of resin will give me about 100 litres of 0 TDS water. Of course if you use larger volume of resin you can increase the flow rate. Any pic of you DI unit? May be able to offer better suggestion after seeing it.
  8. I am not refering to expiry date. What I meant was with carbon the same volume of resin will give you more litres of DI water than without. But if you feel that you are happy with the amount of DI you get for the $$ spent on resin alone then its ok.
  9. Your resin will not last long without carbon fillter. Resin is expensive. With carbon your resin will give you more litres of TDS 0 water
  10. In this expensive hobby it is indeed a good practice to start right otherwise it will become even more expensive to correct the wrongs. Will be looking forward to updates.
  11. Erm 10 - 15 years ago undergavel was already passe.
  12. Sorry for the garbage sent earlier. Must be phone was unlocked.

  14. Look out for zoa nudi or sundial snail. For sundial snail remove zoa and inspect closely should be easy to spot. For nudi a little more difficult because they are goo a camouflage. Sometimes you may see them crawling on the glass. Use a torch when the lights are off. Better still if you have a torch with blue light.
  15. Your No. 5 still available? Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
  16. I had a closer look at your zoa in the above photo compared to your photo posted on 25 Nov. The zoa don't look as healthy as the earlier photo. Just to check did you dip your zoa. They are known to come with pests?
  17. Not to worry all will become purple over time.
  18. Sorry my contact 91817028

  19. will take your supernova and UC if still available

  20. Yes but still not sure why you worry about DT level drop a bit when pump is off. There won't be any flooding what? But from my experience if your pump compartment is large and the water level is high then you have to be careful. You have to make sure you filter wool is cleaned/changed regularly because when it is clogged the flow through it will be reduced this can result in your DT overflowing.
  21. Or you can go for the bb moti encrusted base similar to that from world wide corals.
  22. Confirm to check for crystal glass look at edge of glass if it is clear then it is if dark green then normal glass.
  23. I top up with kalk but my experience is that it maintains calcium very well however KH will stil go down over time and I will have to dose KH once a week. I have LPS and softie in my tanks but no SPS.
