  1. Very interesting! Thanks for the read. Actually while the posts seem to agree that the grounding probe can divert away some stray voltage, they all claim that we should try to eliminate the source of the problem. Now, how many reefers here test their tanks with voltmeters? As the ground probe seems to complete the circuit, I would think that it is still useable but it would be best to keep it as near to the source of potential voltage as possible like in the sump? So that there won't be issues in the main tank. So far I have just stuck mine in the tank and my livestock seem okay, perhaps there is insufficient voltage to cause a problem in the first place. Hm
  2. Hi, I have been using a Titanium ground probe that I got from Sealife in my tank for the past 5 years. It was meant to channel off any 'stray voltage' to the earth to improve livestock well being. Just wondering how many reefers are still doing the same these days?
  3. it's a Majano anemone... Actually it does look very nice but some people consider it a pest because it is aggressive and replicates in the tank. Not that fast but fast enough to be considered one...
  4. sure I'm fine with that, as long as he's okay with it
  5. Relax relax It is exciting but most people have learnt to take it slow only after feeling the pain of something going wrong... Keep going!

  7. Guardian Pharmacy sells powder form potassium permanganate for less than $15 I think, aqueous forms are also available. Make sure you know what you are doing, that stuff burns in high concentrations.

  9. Hi, looking for a 2nd hand DI unit, preferably something like the Crystal Pro one-cartridge one. I will consider all offers but cannot be forced to buy. Thanks
  10. Hi, interested in the DI unit. PMed you
  11. You are very welcome! Hope they are useful for you and your cousin. I decided to get a HOB Skimz overflow box from AM to retrofit my 2ft and am going to convert one spare tank into a sump now, still thinking how to do the inside...
  12. I have seen people in the forums here using chillers on small tanks without sumps such as the JBJ nanocube. Would someone tell me how they connect it with the tank as there is hardly any sump space to put in a pump? Am a bit unsure of the setup. Thanks
  13. Do you have photos? Can the stand be adjusted for smaller tanks? Is it the electronic ballast? Thanks
  14. The anemone should be Heteractis malu...
  15. Hello, Looking for a backup 2nd hand HOB skimmer, either Red Sea Prizm or similar. Price must be reasonable and I have the right to refuse to buy. Thanks!
  16. I am interested in the hydro koralia nano, live in Simei/Tampines area too. Will PM you.
  17. Ok the tanks have been reserved for now, will update if there are any more to give. Thanks
  18. thanks, I have seen the term drop-in coil around, what does that mean?
  19. Hihi can I just ask the more experienced reefers around here, what sizes of chillers would be recommended for a 2-3feet tank, and also what should I look out for when buying a secondhand chiller? Do I have to specially check for leaks in certain areas or calcium deposits somewhere and so on? How do I pair a pump with a chiller? Thanks!
  20. yupyup I know but he stays too far from me to collect...
  21. Want to give away 2ft Five Plan tanks as I have 2 or 3 unwanted taking up space, can be used as quarantine tanks. Self collection in Tampines. Still in reasonably good condition. PM me with your contact numbers and I will message you directly. Thanks
