  1. Thanks! Pretty cheap actually - 120 bucks a bulb and 59 bucks for the fixture from ikea, total cost $300! $300 would buy me 2 MH and 2 T5 bulbs and these would only last a year. These are the 12k PAR38 bulbs.
  2. Hello all, Just wanted to share my use of PAR38 lights on my 4 footer. I used to have 2x 150W MH and 2x T5 tubes running over this. One day the glass cover over one of the MH bulbs broke, i didn't realise this, and over the course of 3 weeks i lost all the corals on the side of the tank no thanks to the UV radiation. Anyway to satisfy my itchy backside i decided to replace this fixture with a pair of PAR38 bulbs from Dr evil. These are the CREE XPE ones, not the latest XPG. 60 degree optics and the two bulbs are suspended 1ft over the water by a modified ikea lighting fixture. Hence letting go my MH fixture over here: I'm happy with the results - what i like about this lighting is that the light is shone only on the things that need it, ie the corals and rockscape. Less or no light on other bits of the tank (front wall and equipment by the sides) and hopefully minimising algae growth on them.
  3. Hi, One of the MH fixtures does not have its glass cover. You will require a 7x4" UV filtered glass to replace the broken one. Otherwise the set is fully functional, it has 2x 150W MH and 2x 54W T5 bulbs. Included are 2 phoenix 14k MH bulbs and 2 ATI Actinic T5 tubes that are about a year old. Does not have tank stands, but comes with the hardware for hanging (wall brackets not included). The fixture itself is 2 years old, exterior condition is 7/10. Asking for $100 cash and carry. SMS me at 97370550 (Nicholas).

  6. Bro i am converting my freshwater to marine tank. Have 7L CO2 canister half full, with solenoid, and Ext CO2 reactor. Also have 1 x eheim 2215 and 2213 canister filter. Interested in trading for the wave box? Sms me at 97370550 to discuss. Cheers, Nicholas
  7. Yeah the problem is my skimmer is directly connected to the main tank, not the sumps. The skimmer manual also says that micro bubbles can be caused by certain water parameters, and should go away as the water matures... Does the anemone looked bleached? I read that there is no such things as a healhy 'white' anemone... Thing is i don't know what the original colour of this BTA is, got it from the LFS as it is now...
  8. Icic... looks like have to change bulb liao.
  9. What time frame do you guys use? Also what bulbs do you use?
  10. Hello, I was wondering if my anemone appears healthy... Anyone can tell me?
