  11. Thank You everyone for your birthday wishes. It has been a great year for me and with all the blessings, the year ahead will most likely be a great one too. With a few more weeks to 2013, I will like to wish all a wonderful 2013 and may all be well.

  12. Very Nicely done tank, the lighting adds on to the uniqueness of the tank. How much is the cost of the project?
  13. Look like a great reduction in the power consumption also
  14. My views on the two methods 1. Return to sump, cool faster and kick in faster maybe due to the actual cooling of the water within the sump only and some additional water flowing into the sump while the kicking in faster is due to the fast replace of the Display tank water flowing into the sump. This may need a smaller capacity chiller as the amount of water to cool is relative lesser than the display tank capacity. 2. Return to main, cool longer and kick in slower, cools the water in the display tank fully so takes longer time to cool and kick in slower As for the idea of using the water from the display tank -> chiller -> back to the display tank seem interesting to try out.
  15. Chrislwp is your water back to norm clarity?
  16. Can try Skimz. http://www.skimz.sg/. Very happy with the one I have.
  17. Specs for the Resun CL-280 is at this URL: http://www.resun.com.cn/En/ProductInfo.aspx?ProID=784&ProClass=141 The recommended pump outflow is 500 to 1000 L/Hr. To be very accurate on the power consumption the numbers of kick in and how long the kick in takes does plays a important role. But if you are not going to upgrade your tank in the future, there is no point investing in a bigger Wattage chiller. The different will not be too much for a 30g tank.
  18. Your chiller will take more effort to cool the temperature from 27 to 25 degree, thereby consuming more power as compared to 28 to 26 degree. The same chiller will kick in more often for the case of cooling to a lower temperature. Assuming both tanks of same setup and room condition and the heat up time of 30 mins from 26 back to 28 degree. The likelyhood is that it will take lesser time for it to heat up from 25 to 27 degree. During a hot season, it will take a shorter time for the temperature to heat up and a longer time for the tank to cool down and the opposite applies during colder seasons.
  19. Hi, if the concern is about the noise then like what Spkentchai suggest, putting the chiller in some enclosure will reduce the noise level, but do take care of having sufficient space and clearing at the outlet of the chiller for the heat to disperse Amount of noise is subjective also, in a silent environment, a noise at a low db will also be heard. So far, Arctica has serve me well.
  20. ROWA has been working for me too, working well.
  21. Will there be an issue running both together? Bio pellets and denitrator?
