Bro & sis, Would like to find out from Teco RA680 users, how long it will take to chill down ~1deg if based on 1) 4X2X2.5FT tank 2) 6x54W T5 light 3) 4pumps, total ~200W Kindly advise as I am borrowing my friend's chiller and it takes ~2hrs to chill down from 28deg to 27deg, with ambience temp ~31deg Feed pump from aquabee 3000lph, placement beside tank.

Good mentality, it is more fruitful to see brown sps colour up rather than getting a coloured sps which turn brown later. & it's cheaper that way. Way to go, alan.

Used to have MH for my 2.5ft, running on 2 fans, maintaining temp ard 28deg. Topping up water using tubby. Basically, it's quite maintanence-free. Now using T5, intesity is of course not so strong, worry abt bulb replacement, taking up more space but less heat. T5 can be quite hot too. IMHO, if possible, I prefer MH to T5 as more maintenance free. But alas, if anyone want to buy my T5,..............PM me. Malcolm, if possible, you can add a cupboard to shield yourself from the spread of MH when viewing your tank. The higher your mh, the bigger spread will be. Just my 2 cts.

Y everyone sooooo pissed off? This is only human nature. Those who been thru NS, who recd your 1st M16, you like to play with it too, right. Only after you went chiong mountain with it, tat you realised how f***ing heavy it is. Many of newbie went thru this stage, where temptation rules. Let him get past this stage, & maybe he will be a better reefer. I hv seen reefers here buying fishes, then discovered not suitable then sold off again then buy more fish. I admit I was like that too, hee hee. Relaxed, and advise as much as possible as a teacher to a student. I dun tink your teacher will go to ur place to monitor yr homework and get so pissed off when u do not understand what they r teaching.
