  8. Dear Reefers, The choice of REEFERs for your next tank has just increased with the expansion of our range of premium reef-ready aquarium systems with 4 new models: XL 200, XL 300, XXL 750 V3 & our top-of-line 3XL 900. All of the new models will be available at the beginning of 2020. The REEFER XL 200 and XL 300 models give extra room for enhanced aquascaping in the 60-90 cm size range. The XL 200 & XL 300 are not just higher and wider than the popular 170 & 250 models, but they also feature a laminated, plywood cabinet with adjustable feet. At the top end of the range, the all-new REEFER 3XL 900 model maintains the familiar rimless format and clean lines of the REEFER series. The impressive, 900 litres REEFER 3XL 900 gives you the freedom to create a truly spectacular reef. 200 cm long, and 65 cm high and wide, the 3XL 900 introduces an enlarged overflow box with dual side-facing return pump outlets and increased surface skimming that provides ideal water circulation in the tanks with flows of up to 10,000 lph. These new features have also been implemented on the latest version of the XXL 750 V3 giving it a new look and significantly improved flow dynamics. Both of these systems come complete with fittings to attach either a single or dual return pumps. A unique feature of the 3XL 900 is a split sump system that provides unsurpassed flexibility. The main sump is set for the usual filtration functions with an optional refugium chamber and a dedicated adjustable height skimmer chamber. The sump extension (60 litres) can be connected to the main sump and used for additional filtration, as a larger refugium or even as a dedicated frag tank. Alternatively, it can be set up as an independent unit and used as a full-size (83 litres) RO reservoir or saltwater reservoir for automated water changes. 12. Dear Hobbyist, Here at Red Sea, we take coral lighting needs seriously. And after years of research and testing, Red Sea is proud to release the all-new ReefLED™ smart reef lighting system. These lights have been designed to ensure optimal coral growth, dramatic coloration and a gentle shimmer throughout the aquarium. The ReefLED lights are guaranteed to be Reef-Safe and REEF-SPEC® and with its unique daylight channels they’re also very easy to set up. The built-in wi-fi connects them directly to the internet, enabling you to control them from your smart phone using Red Sea’s ReefBeat® smart aquarium app. Here’s a little dip into the details: Reef-Safe and REEF-SPEC: ReefLED provides the precise intensity and spectrum of light that are actually used by corals. The single compact L.E.D. array includes a multi-wavelength “REEF-SPEC Blue” channel (a proprietary blend of blue, violet and ultraviolet LEDs) which together with an 8,000K White channel provides a reef-safe range of color temperatures that enable all corals to flourish. ReefLED also includes an optical-glass, hollow lens that ensures a homogenous light spectrum with ideal PAR values throughout the aquarium, without hotspots or areas with insufficient light for coral growth. Easy set-up and control: The ReefBeat app provides a number of preset lighting programs you can choose from as well as additional features including sunrise/sunset effects, lunar cycle moonlights, random clouds and an acclimation program for new installations. ReefBeat also provides best-practice guidelines during setup as well useful notifications to your smartphone, for example, in the event of a power outage. Two models to choose from: The ReefLED 90 includes 80W of REEF-SPEC Blue, 10W of 8,000 Kelvin White & 3W of dedicated moonlight and is suitable for aquariums of up to 65cm depth. The ReefLED 50 includes 40W of REEF-SPEC Blue, 10W of 8,000 Kelvin White & 3W of dedicated moonlight and is suitable for aquariums of up to 50cm depth. To get the full specs, visit our ReefLED product page and see our product video that features corals after 2 years under the ReefLED 90 lights. Happy Reefkeeping, The Red Sea Team

  15. Guide for NOPOX. Test your Nitrate level before using NOPOX Estimate your total volume of water (aquarium & sump less volume of live rocks etc) Once you have confirmed the nitrate level and tank volume, dose NOPOX according to the chart below: Efficient protein skimming is essential to provide the necessary oxygenation to the aquarium and to remove bacterial flocks from the water. NOPOX must be added consistently on a daily basis to prevent starvation and destruction of the nitrate reducing bacteria. If you miss one or more days of using NOPOX do not add the extra amount that you have missed, instead resume the dosing at the current daily dose you calculated. Note, as your nitrate reduces, the amount of NOPOX you add also reduces, so keep testing your nitrate during the first few months of using NOPOX, until you reduce it to 1-0.25ppm, and then continue at that dosage. NPX is a carbon source that provide nutrition to bacteria which break down nitrate. If your nitrate levels are high, then NPX will stimulate a large bacteria population to start breaking down nitrates. Therefore, be careful not to overdose NPOX, and never use more than the recommended dosage. If you overdose, then the bacteria produced may deplete oxygen in the water. Hence the need for an efficient protein skimmer to aerate the water. If you have overdosed, then immediately perform a large water change For use on SPS aquariums, and more detail advice, please read the product manual. NPX is an extremely effective product for reducing nitrate in your aquarium, use is carefully and according to the dosing instructions, and you should achieve low levels of nitrates quickly and be able to maintain them at the low level forever.

  17. Great question. We had multiple corals SPS\LPS\Soft and different families and species within each category. As you know SPS are the most demanding, and as such gave us a good index to how the LED performed across the water column. Meaning that if you could grow SPS at that depth the others will be more than fine growing there. The research have supported that (all did extremely well), and the recommended depth for our lights is determined by the ability for SPS to thrive in. 60X60X60cm for the ReefLED90 and 50X50X50cm for the ReefLED50. Hope that answers the question.
