Test kits are a must for you to monitor the water parameter. do get all the necessary kits like CA,PO4,NO2,NO3,KH,NH3,MG,etc and do a water parameter test at least once a week ..only when these basic are met then add in the LS. my 2cents

i have 3 trigger fish in my tank ( niger , undulate & clown) none of them disturb my hard and soft coral. feed them 2 times a days with pellet, mysis and krill .

i am upgrading my current 1200L wavemaker to either a tunze 6055 + 7091 controller or Vortech mp10w es or mp40w es for my 2 x 1 x1 tank setup. mainly LPS ,some SPS,invertebrates and LS. can anyone advise which one should i get ? is the MP40 a over kill ? thanks

API is good for me

Refractormeter is so much better and more accurate.. a good investment. as for the test kit, i am using the API master test kit that can test calcium,Nitrate,Alkalinity and Phosphate. Cost $58 .
