  1. Just seeking opinions. Do you think a 1/10 hp arctics brand new chiller will suffice? Total volume around 250litres and after using JBJ calculator, recommended size is 1/10. Anyone uses arctics 1/10 for similar volume? Does it kick in more often..

  4. Some equipments now 1. Eheim 1260 return pump. Previously used Jebao DC 3500, it malfunctioned, motor got screwed wont spin. 2. Jebao WP25 wavemaker 3. Coralife UV steriliser 9Watts with Hydor pico 1000 feed pump (< 10 Watts) 4. LEDs from Eshine Aquasun CREE 36x3W. At the moment can't cover fully 4 feet as its meant for 3 feet. Maybe need two or upgrade. But at the moment, still very good. 5. Skimmer - Deltec APF600 (I think), replaced the noisy Aquabee with Red Devil skimmer pump. Feed with Atman pump 6. Koralia nano wavemaker in sump-skimmer compartment to prevent detritus from settling down. 7. Spare red devil pump meant for chiller (not running at the moment) 8. CFL for refugium. 9. Sponge filter - for quarantine use 10. Digital temperature reader Initial cycling done with Seachem Stability - managed to cycle within 3 weeks. Got used dry rocks from another reefer here and a couple live rocks. I use sand from CaribSea mix (recommend for those wanna keep mandarins). Using the refugium setup with chaeto. Seems to grow really well with simple CFL. around 4 inch refugium sandbed. Pods really like chaeto. As for livestocks: 1. Dogface puffer 2. Green mandarin 3. Blue/green chromis x 5 4. Adult Emperor angelfish 5. Peculiar parrotfish 6. Foxface rabbitfish 7. Normal clownfish x 2 8. Pink spotted watchman Goby 9. Red coris wrasse adult 10. Bicolor drawf angel - blue yellow 11. Leapord wrasse, bought recently but rarely see it nowadays, haha. 12. Carpet anemone, blue sponge, leather coral and GSP. Also some CUC (needs replacements as it becomes food for dogface) Chemicals and media: 1. Redsea NoPox, previously tried but nitrate still not low, maybe not for FOWLR setup. 2. Biosphere bag in skimmer 3. Sponge filter after refugium compartment, see earlier photos 4. Redsea A, B, C (seldom use, if use its mainly A and Wow too long post, sorry.
  5. Yeah. Only enough for resun chillers. Need to fix circulation fans for proper ventilation though. Water temp now around 29 ish 30 degrees tops. Cheers!
  6. yeah. still have time. now fowlr first... looking for a good chiller to support this. total water volume including sump is around 250 litres. too bad the cabinet wont fit the chiller. not good also.

  8. Hey all. sorry for the late update. here is the final showcase photo. tank already up and running. had to fix brace as it tend to bow previous. with braces, it is great. The aluminium tank support are covered by laminated plywood panels, DIY too. It sticks to the aluminium using some good quality strong door like magnets. I don't like those swing open cabinet doors.   10. Hi. Not sure why it broke down. Never did turn it up to full blast. It was used as return pump. Maybe it's my luck got a bad piece from manufacturer. Now back to eheim.
  11. Only used for 4 mth, no warranty as its a parallel imported set. Suspected motor problem. The controller is alright. If you can fix and find parts for replacement, it would be awesome. Letting this go. Let me know your offer via pm. Thanks!
  12. Bought an extra set, unused still in box in storeroom. This is the Turbo Twist 3X type, suitable for tanks up to 125 gallons and unique twist to allow more water contact with the UV light. Requires a small feed pump (not included). Can be used for marine or freshwater. UV sterilizers claim to remove unwanted microorganisms resulting in clean and clear water. Some say good for FOWLR can kill ich parasites (can do a google search to find out more) Get one now at only $75. Collect at Pasir Ris or can arrange postage after payment.     RESUN Fuse

    Hello Does anyone know where is the location of the resun fuse? My chiller just broke down and no power, suspect it is the fuse.

  17. hi, if it dies of ich, would advice to quarantine them first before introducing to main display tank. This way, you can feed it and observe that it is well free of ich or other diseases. Then when introducing to main tank, better to put in a large submerge container, preferably those acrylic ones with holes. then its fellow tank mates can 'introduce' themselves. dogface always eats mostly anything. likes mussels. also, it likes to have a nice hiding spot where it can feel safe.
