get a hydrometer. add the salt to the water little at a time. let it stir for 10-15mins and try using a hydrometer and check if it is in range according to the hydrometer you are using
yup the wavemaker shud be for the coral. last time i ask lfs they said if the fish feels current is too strong they will find a spot to relax !! haha maybe true maybe not i dunno
based on what i have been reading is that is true for high range led system. but for t5 and mh i think will need higher somewhere in the range of 6-8wpg
if t5 aquazone 4 bulbs shud be enough...length of bulb shud be same as length of tank. if can afford better modules of cos its better. led the cheapest option is alibaba par38 gd enuf for lps but i think the spectrum not gd enuf to color up the coral. again of cos the better led are the best. mh 150w is the best in my opinion even for 2ft deep tank

my suggestion is for a start since you are using the cheap hydrometer like me!! change your salinity to 1.020. the meter is just cheapo plastic so try a calibrated one n u will see wat i mean

anyone got an effective killer of these guys??? i tried pistol shrimps, bandit shrimps, butterfly fish and some liquids it work to some extend but its like 1 down another 2 will pop up. in my refugium it even appears as 1-2mm little aiptasias
