Prazi gold might work provided that its not an issue of lack of feeding due to competition from other fish. You can get it at places like polyart

I wanted to pick some a few oysters from Sheng Siong last time but had dropped the idea. Not to cultivate pearl or for human consumption, but more for "LIVE" filtration in my sump tank. I guess they prefers algae diet than food waste..
Good idea to also check if they are temperate oysters.

Be sure to share it with us when you do!
I will when the time comes

Sad to hear you cant complete your project and i hope you relocate smoothly! Thanks for the advice!
Dont worry, I am relocating to set up something much much bigger than an ordinary home aquarium. It will take a few years of effort and I hope to succeed

I checked with Ah beng, only one big tiger cowrie, too big for my 2 ft cube
Okok, can try again next time. If not can try coral farm. It is occasionally in stock there too. But just call before you go. Good luck!

Yes I saw it yesterday, Ah beng has a huge tiger Cowrie, too big for me & I have heard they are not reef safe
He may have small ring cowries in that same tank, just that they are much smaller and easily overlooked. But yeah he does have them occasionally. For tiger cowrie all I heard is that they may damage softies and sponges. So far mine has not damaged any of the 5 types of sponges I am keeping but it might depend on individual. With sps and lps I have never heard of problems though

Anybody seen any money cowrie or ring cowrie? They are supposed to be reef safe & good algae eater...
Check with ah beng. I think he has tiger cowrie. If you do get let me know how it works out for you
-
They don't work well in reef tanks. People have tried.
Yeah I know. When I first got my 4 abalones, one died within a week. The rest have been doing well in my tank for some months now though
-
but y u want to keep abalone? izzit to keep till CNY then will be big enough to eat?
Haha no la, I just like the way they look! I already have several large cowries, abalones and sea hares that eat stuff off my liverock.
-
U can try the 1 at punggol.
Ah, I was always told that the one at the verge has the largest variety. Shall try punggol then

Does anyone know which sheng siong or other supermart/seafood retailer has the most variety of live shellfish? I want to pick some up to keep.

Anyone else interested in ariocarpus cactus? I like them alot! Considering going to visit bkk which has loads of them but unsure how to bring back.

I am keen to know how this worked out for our bro here because i am moving into my condo soon too and am planning on a 7x3x2.5! But the weight would be nearing 2 tons and the weight issue/kilo newton per square thing is bugging me.
THREAD NECROMANCY! * waves staff*
Hey bro, unfortunately as I may be moving out of SG in the 3rd quarter this year, I am unable to complete this project.
However one thing to take note is to check if your condo does have an underground carpark directly below your unit.
I would think overall weight of the tank is not as significant. Other bros have done similar sizes to what you are planning with no problems, even without staying in a ground floor unit, and I hope it works out this way for you!
-
haha seeing deep sea fishes is a totally different experience. I will be heading to the great barrier reef sometime in the 3rd quarter this year in order to study the fishes there better.

Hi Bro ml708, can I know other than Pinnacle, and Iwarna, which other Marine fish aquariums are there at Pasir Ris? Or very nearby? Thought of making a trip over this weekend. Quite far for me, so want to ensure I cover all before I leave the area. Thank you.
Hi Bro, sorry was out of the country today. Yes as the other bros have stated, the main other ones are ah beng and ng couple. There is also an old man selling a very small number of marine fish. Doubt he has corals. There is a small banner outside his shop.

West coast aquarium ? Nv hear before
Same here. Apparently they have been in existence for 12 years!
-
I think there is one lfs called West coast aquarium @ Blk502, West Coast Drive.
Just came back from there. Their sps looks good quality. A few lps as well but not many fish.
-
There is one beside west coast market.

Any idea on the name? You arent referring to jireh which was there years ago or marine life by any chance?
-
Anyone know Ah Bac opening hours or contact number? Will he be open over lunch hour?
He has no fixed hours apparently, though some other bros here may clarify.
-
Should be 100m-150M away from LCK 201. Been there once - very very old building. It's on the right side after the main
entrance.
Currently is at 160 neo tiew road. But he may shift somewhere else in the vicinity in the near future.
-
Can I have their address that u stated
Which ones? A partial list is found in our forum lfs directory.
