  1. Have a sea hare as well. PHOS can't be high after a 90% change? If it is how is it going so high?
  2. I am afraid mine is Cyano and hair.. Any ideas? Yes did the chk the WC for parameters and it was fine..
  3. Done that fish cake. Twice. In fact sand is v v v clear now... No issues there.. Perhaps sand under the rocks maybe an issue. As I said I am foxed. Have been having a tank 15 years now and this is the first time.
  4. Was thinking of flow.. Have two jebao on the right and left and also the return on the right.. All on full flow.. Would it help to get some small wave makers for the back of the tank.. Two small ones to blow the rocks? Suggestions welcome on whether this will help and also which brand I should go for ( Low powered)
  5. Afraid the photos won't turn up.. Very thin coating on two rocks only.. Sand bed is 1 inch max. Tank is nearly 15 months now m
  6. Someone told me to change the sand fully? Good idea?
  7. Thanks YT. Am really sad. I use sea water purchased from the farm. Rowphos, skimmer, all good and have been scrubbing the 5#^*+>@ algae at least thrice a week.. After my 90% change it has come back next day. Am really at my wits end as something is emitting NI and don't know what...
  8. Now this a strange one.. Am having nuisance algae in my tank, hair algae as well as Cyano. Have dosed dr pohl + other algae medications. Have changed the water to nearly 90%. Have cleaned sand, sump, Refugium et al... But no effect... Have been scrapping the rocks thrice a week and have also had three days of zero light.. Algae does not stop. Any advise will help... Tank is 600 liters, has livestock like fish(15), four shrimps, sea hare, several crabs, several sand dollars, snails both sand and turbo, three bristle star fish, two sand starfish, several corals..
  9. Agree. Want to make it simpler. I am 8 years old now.
  10. Thanks adstg.. Have given up checking on test kits for some 2 years now.. :-). This is a unique one and I want to get to the depths of it.. One mystic I want to debunk is reef keeping is tough.. Will go on to triton soon and will publish results. And yes buddy thanks for the offer. Appreciate.
  11. Thanks PCW. Am a gut person and am sure it is PHOS.. I don't overfeed ever.. Ensure entire food is gobbled up. Yes looks like the rocks but how do u tackle that?
  12. Ok.. Call me names call me anything!!! I don't test my parameters.. I know water quality by just looking at the tank.. My take now is that my PHOS has gone up.. How do I know? Algae on the glass every two days. There was Cyano earlier but have more or less got rid of it.. Any ideas why PHOS is high? Have done two water changes at 25-% and 50%.
  13. I would put it down to the other fish attacking the new comers and injuring them. The hermit is just clearing the dead ones. Have had hermit crabs years and never had an issue. So think before u banish them. They are good CUC.
  14. Sherman. Thanks. My motor had run off. Phoo was the issue.
  15. Thanks James. Yup am on dry skimming.
  16. Okay. Have a 225 gallon tank.. Flow is perfect bin fact has been the same since a year plus. However have turned it up now. Miss have some 15 fish which I don't think is much. Lighting is also perfect and been same for a year now. Have however turned it down a bit. Feeding is once a day with ZERO wastage ( fish literally eat out of my hands ). Have been a reefer some 6 years now. So know the causes.. Also am a junkie so don't test parameters at all. Not sure but y the Cyano turned up after a year of tank well being. Surprising bloom started after a water change. Anyways any cures possible? Amox? Red slime remover? Sugar? Have used nualgi yesterday for the first time m
  17. Have had some very minor case of Cyano. Have been tooth brushing them but they keep coming back.. Am very good at tank husbandry so don't know why.. Anyways can anyone suggest some permanent cures.i have a fully stocked tank with fish, clams, corals, shrimps, snails etc..
  18. How do aips come into the tank? My tank is some 1 year old with ZERO aips. All of a sudden saw one. Got rid of him with joes. However query is how do they come in to the tank? No fresh additions for over 3 plus months. Any ideas.
  19. Have two.. Based in river valley.. Quote a price and take it
  20. He's back. And back to full size. My take was he wanted to poop big time
