  3. These are the observations I made so far dosing from my Enaly ozone generator via a ORP controller set at 400mv. Water clarity definitely increases resulting in better light penetration to the corals & it helps to break down the nutrients faster for my beckett to skim out (judging from the rate of ORP) so now I can afford to feed 6-8 times a day without nuisance algaes outbreak. Eric
  4. For my 3ft I use a 1262 eheim 3400l/hr for my chiller to tank and a Rio 32hf 8000l/hr for main return. I find the high turnover rate is good for my skimmer to cope with my high bioload. Eric
  5. I use normal silicon glue to seal the leaking joints that might omit ozone. So far the ozone is unable to penetate the silicon glue. Your skimmer waste collector vent will omit left over ozone to any rubber or plastic near it. Allowing the vent gas to go through a layer of carbon will help reduce but wont eliminate it. Best is keep the area open to ventilation. Eric
  6. My 2 flame angels used to nip on my sps polyps whole day long. I started feeding them with formula 2 flake food 3-5 times a day in small quantity. Now they prefer the flakes than the sps polyps, so the nipping also reduces alot. You might wan to try out this method on you black angel. Eric
  7. Feeding your corals will help promote growth and colouration but dont over do it till it deteriorate your water parameters. The corals will prefer good lightings and stable water parameters. I dont feed my corals individually but I feed my fishes 6-8 times a day now. So the corals get whatever flows to them. I also off/on my powerhead for 15mins twice a day to create a different flow patterns in the tank and that helps to stir up detritus and particles that are trapped in certain dead spots. These suspended detritus and particles also become a food source for the corals. Eric
  8. Who took my reserved Chevron tang from the last blue tub................faster owned up!!! $#&*@+............. Now I have to wait for next shipment................. Eric
  9. Altogether 3 pumps for my present 3ft set up. If got chance upgrade, I'll probably use an external re-circulating NW skimmer and tap off the overflow to the skimmer with 2 external return pumps for reducing heat contribution and save some electricity in the long run. 1)Main return - 32HF 2)Chiller ###### return - Eheim 1262 3)Skimmer - 20HF Eric
  10. Its the same as you dosing the vitamins and additives like reef plus.......just that its in cube form and you dont have to dose it everyday. I just dump 1 cube into my sump after every weekly water change out. I do notice a sudden increase in coraline algae after using this LAB 28 but I cant attribute the coraline growth entirely becos of LAB28 as I notice my tank has been quite stable ever since I use only de-min(DI) water plus the 4kg Phosban in the sump. I can only advice its worth a try for those who find difficulty in havng coraline algaes. You can buy the LAB 28 at Irwana for ard a few bucks per cube. Result should show after the 8 cubes (8th week). Btw, mine is only a 3ft tank, so I only dose 1 cube although the instructions advice 2-3 cubes for my tank size. For those 4ft and above, you might need to use at least 2 cubes a week. Eric
  11. Pull out watever algaes you have access to. Dump 3kg-4kg of phosban/rowaphos or aquaphos into your sump, do weekly 20%water change and top up with DI or RO water only, reduce feeding amount, add in a small yellow tang or fox face and algae benny to feed on the dying algaes. The use of ozone generator and wet skimming will help to speed things up. Be very patience and enjoy the nuisance algaes termination process............the process will take 8 weeks to 16 weeks. Eric
  12. A cube of LAB 28 a week take care of my water chemistry balance now. Have seen layers of coraline algaes started growing too. Its cheap and worth a try. Introduce to me by the auntie from Irwana. Eric
  13. To get the skimmate to overflow into cup you can try to remove the top cover. The clearance between the riser and the top cover is too close, causing the foam bubbles to burst instead of overflowing into the cup. Eric
