  3. Sure...we will be at AM, then prata. Timing about 7.30pm. We are all fat so very easily recognisable...else can ask Janet about the fatties hehehehhehehe
  4. The sulphur will be consummed in the process of denitrification, so periodically will mean 1 year or more. So far have been several months and the media is almost as it is, roughly maybe about 5% used?
  5. Discussion topic - marine life diversity & fishmongering novel by J. Iscariot
  6. Yes yes meeting up...confirmed at 7.30pm arcanehacker, you wanna join and coffee shop talk ? Anyone else is warmly welcomed !
  7. Birdo Phalanges aka Birdseye Fish Fingers from Atlantic Ocean, much better colouration than Seaways
  8. Maybe have birdo phalanges a rare fish species from the Atlantic Ocean
  9. Paradiz Reef having sps shipment (deep sea species) and some nice montis today.
  10. Very nice orange shoulder tangs sighted at SL...full adult colouration - one solid male at the right top tank on entrance.
  11. Just wanna be sure,,,will be disastrous it the seams of the tank fails or the oscillation of the water in the tank swaying causing problems for the tank. A well made tank should last a good 10 yrs.
  12. Ok, your experience is very much appreciated. I guess the "fear" of tank longevity issue (20% decrease in life expectancy) is unfounded? The hydro-static pressure should be a non issue as far as the tank (normal types) is concerned. The concern however will be the dynamic water movement (like the suspended highway with dynamic loadings) which will not result in point loadings but dynamic loadings and whether this will create an issue from a structural point of view - from both the tank and stands.
  13. Yeap experienced that too, starpolyps cannot flourish in high nitrate environment. The 3ft tank which i rely on plenum and canister filtration is interesting - where no skimmer is used, all natural filtration. But kinda fragile where careful balance is needed.
  14. In my opinion at 20ppm is ok as along as the corals (if you are having any) can tolerate the levels. Too high levels of nitrate/phosphate/silicate etc may get absorbed into the sand bed or rocks and may present some future problems just as i have experienced.

  16. Any updates on this one? Especially interested on the compatibility of local tanks/stands with the wavebox.
  17. Over pints of good Irish/German/English beer will be good...
  18. My interests are very much diversed indeed, not moving away from reefing/marine though.
  19. The lowest to date i gotten from my tank is 2.5ppm. If you run the S-filter correctly it should give you very low nitrate levels. 25 fishes is quite alot of fishes. Are they small or big fishes? My 3 angels are big (french, asfur, blue faced) tangs are big (sohal, yellow, mimic, orange shoulder) a small school of chromis (blue-green), mandarin, spotted blotched hawkfish. All are very big except my mandarin, even for my chromis, its bigger than what you can find in the lfs duh ! Awaiting some more fishes hhehhe & corals.
  20. Dun have much corals, but 1 big hardy acro survived, some of the less "hardy" ones went fast... About precipitation at high calcium levels, not really true in my case, did a check with reefcentral Farley and experience also shows precipitation may not really occur in high ca... just some experience to share.
  21. Some updates, tank nitrate is reduced to 2.5ppm, measurement taken a few days back.
  22. You got a defunct bulb or maybe the flow is too fast?
  23. Its gonna be a long subject for discussion, but if peace is good, put all effort to pursue it then...
  24. Glad it serves you well and believe you have made the right choice hehhehe interested in P16?
