  1. Saw this lionfish only twice in my nearly 8 years of hunting for oddballs. It is a really sensitive fellow, dashing around at the slightest disturbance. Unfortunately not eating yet, though tempted with live small marine fish. Hope it survives. The first specimen I kept was back in 2002, without success. I remember a fellow enthusiast from Thailand (a SRC member) have a specimen in his/her collection too.
  2. Unexpected spawn from my frogfishes - upper 2 pics are the ribbon-filled eggs. Female (white) is in the lower left pic - its abdomen was swollen when it courted with the male. Male (black) is in the lower right pic. I didn't take pictures of the courting because it was late last night and my tank lights were off. I didn't want to switch on the lights and disturb them. The courting movements were jerky spasms of the whole body, with all fins and opercula flared. Anyone who wants to try hatching the eggs and raising the fry are welcome to have them - please pm me. Collect at East Coast. I will release the eggs into the sea on Thursday if nobody is interested.
  3. Interested in the portable pumps, 2 ft PL light and weipro skimmer. Is the light extendable for 2.5ft tank? Please pm me.
  4. Posting this so that people will know - Ah Beng said he has a shipment (seems like a big one, cos all other LFS not ordering for the coming week) on 12 Feb 07 (Monday) at around 3 to 5 pm. Also, he said he will open on 17 Feb (Saturday) morning.
  5. Hi, where is the location to collect for the pumps?
  6. Effects of the lighting. The water is transparent seawater.
  7. Please pm me if interested. All will come unattached. Dimensions in cm - Length x Breadth x Height Top left - 13 x 5 x 10 Top right - 15 x 10 x 9 Bottom left - 26 x 7 x 15 Bottom right - 32 x 10 x 18 Kept for a few years by somebody else, letting go because can't keep anymore.
  8. Noted, thanks bro. I have problem controlling the interface with this website. Never happened before. Logging in and out all screwed up.
  10. Went to do some research + sought advice from someone - basically he thinks that the offers which came in are too low for the quality of the items, and doesn't do the previous owner justice. The pocilloporae are really big growths on their own (2 of them are more than twice the size of an adult's clenched fist) and of good shapes with good flat bases. The acroporae are also big complete growths on their own and not frags. The smallest pocillopora will be withdrawn from sale because it doesn't seem to be doing as well as the rest. Therefore, the prices will be as follow: 3 pieces of Pocillopora - $45 each. The 2 bigger acropora - $45 each, the smallest - $20. The biggest seafan - $40; medium seafan (it is attached to a sponge-like thing)- $20; smallest seafan - $5. Sorry for the reversal in position, but it will save me the headache of determining whether an offer is reasonable. Those bros interested, please pm me. Venue is at East Coast Road, collection at evening and night time.
  11. Hi Guys, Thanks for the interest. I may have gotten the right and left wrong. My 'right' picture is your 'left' when you are looking at the screen. I'm selling cos I don't think I can take care of them successfully. I don't know what they cost at the shops, and hence I won't be able to quote prices. Therefore, I think the best is for you to name me a price for the item you want. If the price is reasonable, then it will be sold. Please bring a pail and a portable pump if you come to collect the item. They may break while bagging, and furthermore I don't have oxygen gas. If during collection you think that the item is not up to your standard, or that it is not in good condition, you are not obliged to accept it. Having said that, I hope everybody will be open minded enough to know that a picture provides only crude information about the item - viewed from another angle, it may not be so perfect. For those who have pmed me, I will reply in the same manner, and you can get back to me again. I hope to have everything cleared by this coming Thursday.

  18. Like to make a survey of the following: (1) What form of lighting you use for your SPS corals; (2) The ratio of light:dark hours you employ; (3) Do you use a dimmer? (4) What other inverts or fish do you keep with your SPS? Thanks for taking part!
  19. Thanks. The pics were taken 15 minutes after the corals were added to my tank, which is not meant for SPS corals. Hence they are for sale. If anybody is interested, please pm me.
  20. Hi, I'm helping a friend to sell his corals. Anybody know how much this type of coral costs? What are reasonable prices for these two? Anybody can help to id? Thanks.
  21. If the frogfish refuses to eat, leave it be. In my own experience, forcing a frogfish to eat (by forcing it to be in close proximity to a moving/wriggling prey, where it will then swallow by instinct. It is forced because it has no interest in moving prey when you first introduced the latter) always results in death within 2 days. Having said that, frogfish are greedy feeders, and will seldom refuse meals which are a week apart. The prognosis is guarded.
