  1. Hi brothers, Would like to know if it is alright to mix 2 to 3 different species of angelfish in a 4ft tank? For example, a Coral Beauty with Bicolor Angelfish or Lemonpeel Angelfish? HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
  2. Dear brothers, I am considering to get a Hydor wavemaker from Aquamarine this weekend. Just want to know what would be a good choice if my tank is 3 1/2 ft? Hydor Koralia 2 - Wavemaker Pump 2300L/h Hydor Koralia 3 - Wavemaker Pump 3200L/h Thank you.
  3. Not much in Reborn and PR, just visited today. But saw squids & octopus in Reborn

  5. Reserved, thanks for your interest.
  6. Dear brothers, Have an injured damsel - bullied by my dottyback and true percula. Keeping staying at one corner of the tank - poor thing Tail is slightly broken but think still quite alive. Now separated from main tank. Not sure of its exact name but look like the one under this url: http://www.solodvds.com/images/fish/Chrysyptera_taupou.jpg Anyone can adopt? Preferably someone with a stable-environment tank with little aggression else it may not survive. Self-collection in Sengkang. PM me
  7. Thanks brothers! Due to budget, I am thinking of getting SEIO M1100 - 1100gph/4400lph. I do hope that is good enough. But you have pointed out something important...I do use fine sands for my sandbed! Thus I guess Tunze 6060 will be too powerful I guess. Does anyone know where to get sand dollars too?
  8. Hi brothers, I need advice regarding the waterflow in tank. I am planning to upgrade my powerhead because I keep finding alot of detrius collected on the rocks and sands. It is getting frustrated to keep stirring the sands so frequently. I do hope a better powerhead can cover more areas. Just would like to know what is a good waterflow rate for a powerhead in a 4FT tank? Thank you.
  9. Thank you so much! I will check the market for the prices!
  10. Hi brothers, I just learnt that the waterflow of pump is determined by its specification on litre per hour (l/h). Thus, just want to know what should be a good l/h for a 4 ft tank? Thank you
  11. Hi brothers, I have a new question about pump. Need advice again and thank you for in advance My tank is 4ft (length) x 1.5ft (width) x 2ft (height) holding around 330 litre of water. My tank has a 6-inch wide IOS partition for my filtration media at the side of the tank. I am seeking a suitable pump to push the water from the IOS back to the main tank. I need a pump that is strong enough to provide a good waterflow within the tank so that good amount water can benefit from the filtration. What type of pump should I be looking at? Any good brands to recommend? What type of specification is important when I source for the pump? Thank you so much
  12. Hi brothers, I have some questions about chiller. Will need some advices. Thanks in advance! 1) I checked the prices for Resun and Teco chillers and found that the prices for Teco is way high for Resun. Is there a reason for that? Resun is cheap, does it mean not reliable? 2) I read some chiller that specify 1/4HP, 1/6HP, etc. What does the HP stand for? Anyone can explain to me? 3) What type of maintenance is required of chiller? What do you need to do and how often? Thank you so much!
  13. mm...very curious... What do these bristle worms feed on?
  14. Thanks Fuel and Dan!!! These information is so valuable to me!!! Thanks!!!
  15. Thanks Dan and Lastmanstanding for all the advices !!! Dan, I didnt have any idea on the budget yet but as long as it is not over a $200 setup, I should be alright Dan, may I know why did you advise against turtle weeds? Any reasons? Because I was thinking that it may be a good supply of food for the hermit crabs
  16. Thanks wts684, May I know what is the maintenance you are referring to? I am really a newbie In any case, this may so funny but I will only have a few hermit crabs in the tank with turtle weeds. So perhaps the bioload won't be too much? Thus maintenance should still be relatively simple?
  17. Any friend can help with my 2nd question? 2) Is NH3/NH4 and NO2 level important to crabs? I read on liveaquaria but they only mention high level of Nitrate NO3 is harmful to them. Does that mean certain small amount of NH3/NH4 and NO2 will not harm them? Thanks
  18. Thanks Bubble_gum !!! I am intending to put the tank in my office. Not sure if the cubicle table can support such a weight so trying to get something small If acrylic can show the true colours, that will be great Now I am wondering whether I should get those nano tanks with built-in lightings and filtration. Not sure whether their lightings and filtration is good enough for a simple marine tank? Thanks !!!
  19. Dear all, Taking my very step into marine. So need to get a tank first. I am hoping to get a tank of roughly 1ft size - not too big or expensive. Basically the intended setup will be just a few pieces of rocks with turtle weeds, and abit of livestocks. 1) Should I go for glass or acrylic tank? 2) If glass, is there any particular thickness required? Thanks again!!!
  20. Most of the websites state that these hermit crabs are herbviores. I guess that means that they dont feed on brine shrimps?
  21. Thanks for the welcome Surfedelic, This is just a "Hello" thread, well, I have posted another topic. I would appreciate if anyone can help to give me some advice on that one! Thanks ahead
  22. First topic to seek advice I have been reading up some marine websites, esp. liveaquaria.com I took special interest in inverts, esp. crabs. I happened to come across some really cute hermit crabs - Dwarf Zebra Hermit Crabs recently in Marine Life. They are very small, cute. I start to wonder if I can have a small 1ft tank just to house a few of these hermit crabs (no fishes). What would be your advices for ?? 1) Is such a setup possible or recommendable? 2) Is NH3/NH4 and NO2 level important to crabs? I read on liveaquaria but they only mention high level of Nitrate NO3 is harmful to them. Does that mean certain small amount of NH3/NH4 and NO2 will not harm them? 3) Anyone knows whether they can feed on turtle weed? I think it is one of the most common live algae I have been seeing so far. 4) If turtle weed is a good source of food for those hermit crabs, then is there anything I need to look out for when keeping such weed in the tank? Thanks all Hope I dont frighten anyone with such long question. Thanks again
