  1. Hey surferguy1978, Sad to hear that your first pets to ur hobby died. Take a small break, think thru wat you have done wrong, and maybe can start again. Oh, you mentioned that ur fish jumped out of the tank? Any reason how that occured? If i m not wrong, clownfish seldom jump out of tank.. (at least not as common as dartfishes). Also, fishes sustain "internal injuries" when they jump off tank and land on the ground. It may look okay immediately, and then die suddenly tomorrow.
  2. Hi, stabilo, You have PM! I am interested to buy your flame angel. Can reserved it for me?
  3. Hi You can read more on the life cycle of ich here. http://www.petsforum.com/personal/trevor-j.../marineich.html
  4. Hi andy1974, Your fish gana the ich problem?? Did you recently any new fish into your tank? Anyway, now is a bit too late to find out the cause of the ich-carrier already. IMO, DO NOT go and buy those cleaner wrasse, where they are supposed to be able to eat the ich. I read it somewhere, in google, that these fishes will also become victims and become ich-host oso. Are the tangs/fishes still feeding? If they are, u may be in luck. Try to feed them food dipped in garlic addictives. It will aid them in their immune system to fight of the ich parasite. Monitor them for a few days. Adopt more serious solutions if they are not getting better. (ie scratch body more often or more white spots on body) Do you have any invertebrates/corals in your tank? If not, u may add in copper-based treatment medicine that treats ich. BUT, if you do so, ur LR will be contaminated. Will pose problems to u if you intend to rear invertebrates in the future. My fishes had encounted ich problem before and I used hyposalinity treatment on them and manage to save a few fishes. If possible, try to net the affected fish out and gradually reduce the salinity level by a few water changes over a period of few hours/day. More detailed explanation can be read here. http://www.petsforum.com/personal/trevor-j...posalinity.html You may want to read more on ich problems from the internet. Here's another link http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-08/sp/index.php Sorry for being too long winded. Hope it helps you! Good luck in your fight against ich.
  5. Hi ReeF_LoVeR, I agree with fongster. I have encounted similar situations where my purple coralline turned pink, then orange and then stay orange for some time before dying off. That happened when I was restructuring my reef landscape and left some LR in the open (means on a small tub outside the tank lah). I supposed that those coralline that changed from purple->pink->orange most probably indicate they experienced some kind of shocked. Did you do anything to your tank recently?
  6. Hi Altantis, Sorry bro, the skimmer has been collected from Frosflame today. Thanks for your interest. ---Thread closed---
  7. Hi all, happen to browse thru this thread. The link posted by bro Darryl85 don't seemed to work. I would want to know abt the list of lfs in sg. Would appreciate if anyone can repost the link.
  8. I am looking for your mentioned kind of timer oso (multiple controls for, say 3 plugs). Tried looking for it at D.I.Y shop. Sadly, they dun have this type. Do let us know if you can manage to find such timers. thks.
  9. Hi Alantis, who did you buy from?? How come he nv give u the color chart and the instructions?? Anyway, here's a picture of the color chart taken by my bro's camera phone. The color chart is from my PO4 salifer testkit. Hope it helps u for the time being. note: 0.03 is considered good. 0.1 is considered critical. [These are written in the instructions]
  10. Currently, reserved by Frosflame. Will be collecting on Sunday. Thanks everyone for the interest and pm's.
  11. Hi ivor, welcome to the marine community! Here's a test kit to recommend you. (refer to picture) Contains test kits for NO3, NO2, NH3/NH4, PH. I think can get for around $30 at petmart (one of our forum sponsors). I am using it too. Value for money.
  12. Feed sand sifters?? How to feed them when you dun even know where they are hiding sometimes?? They sift under the sand most of the time, and only appear once in a while... Dun worry lah, they are very hardy creatures. Dun need to target feed.
  13. Hi mkt, I suppose u are in your cycling stage of your newly start tank. It is not necessary to ON the skimmer. But best that u ON your wavemaker. Do you have any test kits for NO3, NO2, NH3/NH4+? If so you can monitor the progress of your cycling. Cycling takes about 3weeks or more to be complete. (when the NO2 and NH3/NH4+ level becomes zero permantly) There is no fixed rule when to ON the skimmer. I ON my skimmer about a month's time after I start cycling. Then, i start to slowly stock up my tank. Just my opinion. Hope it helps!
  14. For those who ask me about the footprint of the skimmer, here's a pic showing the dimenson
  15. The skimmer can be hang-on. See Pic. I have used the water white tape to wrap around the water exit pipe, so confirm no leak.
  16. I have washed the skimmer. Price at $50, selling at half the price I bought. Collection will be at Sengkang. Thanks. The original pump is a Rio pump FYI. Here's a picture of all the accessories.
  17. Hi all, I have a macro AS-150P needlewheel skimmer for $50. In good condition. Used for 6 months for my 3ft tank. Selling this skimmer cos I have upgraded. Recommended for new marine fish keepers as it is cheap and is a needlewheel oso. Can be used as a hang-on type and definitely no leakage. (I used it outside my small sump) Suitable for 2 or 3ft tank. Ht of skimmer is 47cm and diameter of cup is 10cm. Can refer to this website for details too. http://www.aqua-macro.com/skimmer.htm Here's a picture of the skim mate. Reasonably good foam but sometimes a bit wet.
  18. Interested in your timer. Can show a picture of a timer you are using?
  19. Hi Borinz, Is the royal gamma a shy fish like the firefish and purple-firefish?? Will it hide in its cave dwelling often? I am asking these questions b'cos I have a purple tang, n is quite agressive in nature. Just to make sure if the royal gamma can survive with this tank mate, especially when it comes to snatching food?... Can advise? Thanks.
  20. Hi, Interested in your royal gamma. What is the size of the fish? Got any pic?
  21. Hi Bro, Can post the dimensions of the lightset? The length, the width and the height of the set from the top of casing to the bottom of the endcap? Also, what is the brand of this lightset? Can also post a side view picture of the lightset? Thanks!
  22. Hi Bro w3ish3ng, Is the lightset DIY by urself, or bought from fellow DIT reefers here? Also, Are there 2 switches for the 4 light tubes so that I can have the choice to only on 2 lights?
  23. Interested inyour flame angel. Is it taken?? If not I want!!
  24. Hi, Give them a call lah. Your pump is whole thing spoilt, shaft broken or needlewheel propeller spoilt? I once ask Kenny (from Bio ocean) what happens if my needlewheel propeller is spolit. He says that they will be willing to sell needlewheel propeller (even if you didn't buy the set from them), but must show them the broken propeller. Maybe it will be cheaper just to buy the motor parts instead of the whole pump. Hope it helps. Cheers.
  25. yo bro, You can try to get a replacement pump from Bio-ocean, one of our sponsors. I think(not very sure) they are the distributors for the marco protein skimmers. Bought my marco from them. Give kenny or justin a call first. They are very friendly people! cheers
