  1. dun worry e main circuit breaker is designed to trip before any fire out break. unless urs is faulty. fan is not problem also, it'll breakdown before it catches fire. the only problem is plugs. get those approved plug with the sticker. dun buy those cheap cheap multi plug, although fire is not possible, it may damage ur equipment. i got a cheap multi plug that get too hot and melts with my timer and plug. though no fire, the smell is terrible.

  4. Welcome to the mantis club! actually a lot of hobbyist are attracted to mantis shrimp, only when they learnt that they are not friendly dat turn them off. But one thing that is unusual, they are stress free! so, they can be used as a beginner's pet to crustacean keeping ... i mean in terms of hardiness. dun ever let it wack ur finger...especially ur middle finger.
  5. come to think of it, i agree it does look fake. dun think mantis shrimp can grow to that size. maybe somewhere near nuclear dump side u get this big species.
  6. wah lau got so big one arh? now its time for it to eat back human.

  9. hi all, I just spent some money to buy a reef keeper's nightmare... a mantis shrimp! It is a smasher...or spearer? (gotta check again) and i think it is simply beautiful, like a peacock. very hardy, but a bit dangerous, hope it'll not smash my tank, cos its real loud. 3 thumbs up for this animal, crustacean lovers will appreciate it!
  10. saw it before, tot it was surgeonfish... anyway, surgeon and doctor same rite? kekeke...

  16. ya lor. why waste money on shrimp first? cycle ur tank well and no trouble later.
  17. not sure die lah but might die. why take the risk?
  18. males are usually colorless under the tummy cos no need to carry eggs mah. female grow bigger faster.
  19. dun tink it's Aiptasia anemone, they are extremely hardy, unless u got livestocks eating them. e.g wrasse, parrots or peppermint shrimps.
  20. nope, i din look for crabs. it was somebody else.
  21. hi B|uEc@rpEt, i kept my Jellys for just 3 weeks. they are small so not possible to sting the horses, but i dun guarantee the baby horse. really tire me out to keep them, unless u have available sources for plankton, dun keep them. i'm left with the last one. u can c that they are less active than previously bot, sometimes motionless. like dead. very discouraging.
  22. i agree wif B|uEc@rpEt, unless u are in the Luohan business, its worth converting ur 3 ft.
  23. I kept mine in a crustacean tank, with a couple of fish and seahorse. I do keep some inverts like Jellyfish, but they are not doing very well...
  24. hi B|uEc@rpEt, unfortunately, thats the way i use to ###### them at the LFS too, the one with purplish pleopods are often the female... true indeed, eggs are seen after i introduced the "male" as supposed, as both of them stick together and hunt as a team... and chasing away the other female. and also, though the female is the larger of the two, but in the LFS, u cannot tell the difference.
