Yes..if you remove the filter-mesh and put two pieces of sponge-filter[at your own] (top and bottom) will do the job..

hmm..like what nakazuro mentioned..as long as you periodically clean your inlet filter (which is the usual cause of faulty fan/compressor lead to heat-exchange)..you can run it for years... I am still using the internal temp-controller...

I am using one with a 3000l return pump... Good for price and value.. and QUIET! I am using it for one of my 3.5x2.5x2.5 tank..NO COMPLAIN after more than 15 mths of use..

fully agree with kelstorm...IMO... at least 6055 x 2 (if size of pump matter to you)..otherwise 6100 x 2 OR Sureflow (large-impeller) with Maxijet X 2 or 3..will give you the same effect..(use suregrip magnet to hold your pump)..

Stress weaken the fishes to fight against ich..imo, if a stable tank is infected with ich after introduce new fishes..it will be good to dose some reef-safe medication pro-long the cycle and to allow "stressed" fishes to recover from the "shock" with aggression fish already in the tank

Actually not a lot lah..I have arrange in such a way ..there is a "valley" of almost 7-inches in the middle but both sides covered with rock. I use 2 x Sureflow-Accela and 1 x Hydor K4 to distribute current to prevent dead-spots ...with a WAVYSEA to circulate the TOP-level water-flow.. So far,..not many dead-spot... and fishes are "happy" as no major problem as yet...

Got 4 x 39W BLUE and 1 x 150W MH...but seldom turn ON.
