  1. All this time I thgt that PO4 the lower the better for sps..... thus stand corrected by you lah...... it's a figure of speech.
  2. Thanks for the interesting information on the ideal range of PO4. I stand corrected.
  3. Morning Alan, Theoritically yes, undetectable PO4 levels (Pi, Po or even TPO4) should create an environment for sps to colour up faster and better. But as I had said, if this factor is not a problem as we all here had agreed, perhaps you should look into other factors? Even Fengshui... seriously.
  4. Hi Alan, its not very possible to get zero Organic PO4 (Po) cos many things contain this element.... food, additives....even salt mix in the tinyness quantity. If you are getting zero inorganic PO4 (Pi) even for a long time does not means that there are no Po... cos maybe once it's broken down to Pi, it get absorbed by organism, algae, rowas and other filters. Breaking from Po to Pi I dont know how long, but in my humble experience with water, it will depend on the amount of oxidation in the water.... in general terms... hours. IMO, PO4 relates to algae more than it relates to the colouration of corals....unless of course in large quantity of PO4 than algae grows on corals inhibiting growth etc. Even in the sea there are small traces of PO4 as phosphorus is one of the trace element. Since you are getting zero Pi, PO4 (as a whole) will not be the culprit if you are not getting sps to colour up. If these PO4 issue is bothering you that much, you can pay for total PO4, Pi and Po tests at accredited labs. Each parameter test will cost ard S$40-S$80 depending on the type of technology.... in this area, Weileong will be more expert to advise. But really lah... dun waste the money, like that super hardcore liao.
  5. Hi Weileong, To make long story short, Total PO4 = inorganic PO4 (Pi)+ organic PO4 (Po). Po gives Pi over time. What was measured in aquariums is usually Pi. Po more difficult to measure as most time it's bound to other elements till it becomes Pi when kena break down by bacteria. Oops off topic..... Alan, a link for read on PO4: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/sept2002/chem.htm
  6. Does the Hanna PO4 meter measure ortho-phosphates or total- phosphates? A slight difference between the both but in terms of low range resutls as in 0.01 ppm, there are significant differences.
  7. Wassup with my 35 cents? Things does get sensitive when it comes to LFS kena slammed for poor or DECEPTIVE or worst LOW CLASS tactics... relax lah ping... so far my mood does not render me to slam a certain brand or LFS for all the things that had happen. If you call mine snakes, I call you blind and audio sensitive.... see both sides of the story before taking sides. I saw both sides.... have you? Just my very ORIGINAL 35Cents.
  8. On the contary, we find you entertaining with your antics....gives us a chance to have a go at childish senile old-folks. Nonetheless, glad that you are entertained in your own amusement.
  9. There.... I told you there got coconuts.... hahahahaha
  10. I can't believe got suckers falling for this....... Fake one lah.... MC now at Palau collecting coconuts. lol.... break your lobang.
  11. Things that may happen: 1. Precipitation (depends on temp and material of the bottle) Thus lower Ca and Mg over time.... but not a lot. 2. lower pH (depends on water source... tapwater or RO/DI) May contains bacteria that fouls the water and may upset the pH. May be caused by point 1..... not so sure. 3. Family member thirsty and drink it. May be caused by improper education and labelling... (lol... just joking) If kept for not long...not in terms of months I reckon should be ok. Hope this helps.
  12. Kinda funny... but from the previous posts it seems that acidjazz meant after using a***p***, his clams up lorry. I guess he mistook it that acidjazz was talking about a***z, thus being the stout supporter of all products from USA (or is it?) or germany, he jumped in for that nimcompoopious comment. Not to drift off topic (now got drifters police around).... in essence nearly all additives uses the same chemical to formulate a certain product. i.e pH buffer is usually sodium carbonate. It's just the different quantity being used in different products be it 1% or 10% diff. Afterall , it's a chemical reaction (or warfare) everytime additives are being dosed into the tank. The most important thing is to READ the instructions for dosage.... But then of course must bear in mind that there will be people that are brand conscious or need specific formulation of chemicals to treat their tank.
  13. Wow, you must be using expensive additives, care to share what they are?.....perhaps show your tank pics to convince people here that expensive products do wonders.... no dead LS before!
  14. Small flame hawk at CF some weeks ago... call to confirm if still there. 20+ years old attractive girl with rating of 8/10 sighted in Geylang Lor 8-12 some weeks ago... drive there to confirm.
  15. Interesting read Fuel. So conclusion is both will consume pest anemones.... just that the rate is different both in spieces and in self-spieces group. Tried to find pics of the two different spieces to post here for differentiation... but all look the same to me as the web don't have good pics for comparision...
  16. good luck in getting answers with this kind of reply.... bye bye
  17. Pls note you have to buy your own ballast to drive it. $10 for MH holder is very cheap liao.... $60 for a new Iwasaki bulb that can last 2 years is also dirt cheap liao.... pls don't pm me for any further discount. I appreciate your kind understanding to this matter....
  18. Selling a few weeks old Iwasaki 150W DE 6500K bulb at $60. Colour too natural to my liking, willing to swop for a relatively new 150W DE 14K/10K MH bulb. Also selling a victron 150W MH holder at $10. Please see attached pic. Collection at clementi during weekdays after office hours.... best tomolo nite (Wed) at west coast mac. If weekends, location to be advised....
  19. There are antennas in that north areas of tekong.... will affect compasses.... if navigating there the best way is to take note of the various small streams around... the flow is towards the north.
