Anybody has the answer? My fish also lose colour although water parameters are ok and they eat well.No excessive aggression too.

I agree that wild life whether land or sea belongs to nature.Thats why it is up to LFS and responsible reefers to ensure that we keep only those livestock that are bred and cultured in captivity.If they say corals are only meant for oceans then I say we shouldn't have a zoo.

Water changes is always good provided the new salt mix is the same parameters.

Agreed with bro fuel.Incorrect usage of buffer or baking soda tends to decrease pH rapidly due to imbalance of the water chemistry.Water changes may bring the ions back into balance.

Gd choice abt tank chioce coz gives you flexiblity later on.The rest of stuff is up to your own budget and needs.Juz remember that not all the things you see in the shop is needed for a successful reef.Like owning a car.If you know how to change a flat tyre you don't need to go to workshop.

IMO, price a bit steep.You never even mention what brands of your equipment.HS, RM, Hamliton, etc...

Think one day competition is not a real test of a reefer's skills.Juz testing display skill. Anyway heard the prize also not worth to transport and stress your precious livestock.

If you are serious abt this hobby then go for the largest tank you can afford.Downside is maintenance and electric bill cost.Have fun.

Bro flying carpet, there 2 types of water maintanaence. 1)Water quality. Filtration, skimming,water changes etc. 2)Water chemistry. Dosing of additiives to maintain Ca,Mg,Iodine,Strongtium etc to within NSW levels. As you have been vague about which one then there's very little we can advise.

As for me I want to downgrade to a smaller flat but now the price of 3 room resale big hike liao.After calculation, not worth getting 3 room.So I look at price of new 4 room.The only big difference is the stupid resale levy that would wipe out any 'savings'.Now I stuck liao.

Bro, my guess is your skimmer is the air-stone type.Think it only works if you use it in the main tank and not the sump. As for cycling, it may take up to about two months depending the type of LR you got and the filtration system you have.Patience is the key.
