  1. Another: Lots of micro bubble due to the flow pump not working well. Added some turbo snail to help clear up the diatom and algae. Back to cycling process again.
  2. havent update for quite long already. Did some modification to the tank systems and rescape the rock work. Heres some picture, enjoy and comment pls.
  3. Bought too many thus selling off some, while stocks last. $18/fitting. Each fitting had 3 led light inside. Waterproof, stick on hood type. Just connect to AC/DC adapter with 10 to 15 voltsmax, polarity+. Can contact me @ 97901789 Pic below show 2 fitting.
  4. this is cool, even smaller than CL280 . It will be great for nano tank reefer. keep us updated when u spotted it in any LFS. TIA
  5. Update of heatsink application, The previous temperature was taken with the application of hangon filter, lights on for a few hrs and running of the PH for the skimmer and on a rainy day. But during this few days the temp hover at around 28c and of course after adding another PH for water circulation. Finding is: Not as efficent as blowing the fan over the water surface. Pro is: The water evaporation rate is lower than blowing the fan across the water surface. Conculsion: Well not really effective in keeping the temp down for such a small tank by using the heat sink. Neverthless at least the temp dun go pass 30c will do for me unless keeping a reef tank.
  6. After comparing with some other weipro user the bubble still not fine enough. Look like another experiment time to get it right. I using a 1200l/h pump.
  7. Another pic of it. No skimmate yet.
  8. after feedback from my brother and some brother abt the skimmer bubble, i decide to do something abt it. Did a change to the pump, from internal to external pump and did a little mod to the skimmer and this is the result after the modification. Just started less than 1/2 hrs running before taking this picture.
  9. Wahaha. look smaller than 1.5ft? No plan for a reef tank yet, still reading up to see if able to substain a not.
  10. The fan is suppose to cool down the fin to achieve lower temp than blowing at water surface. No significant water loss from my observation. Water level remain steady almost near to water mark for such a small tank. If i were to blow a fan over the water surface directly, the evapouration will be definitly higher.
  11. Heat sink is used to cool the air in a PC. Price i not very sure, maybe some brother here can help. Usually can get in SLT or SLS. Havent make up my mind to keep wat. Either a mixed or FOWLR. Anyway there is still quite a fair bit of time b4 the cycling finish, so can take my own sweet time to read up more then decide wat to keep at this stage.
  12. Cycling in saltwater. The skimmer still havent break in yet. Today is the 3rd day. 1st day there is only 2 LRs, only untill yesterday then added in more LRs. So i dun think there will much to skim until yesterday and today. Can see there is much more bubble this morning. Will keep updating of the progress Cheers
  13. Good question. Now still in trial phrase, unknown if it does oxidate. Previously got ppl use it in FW as a cooler. Now trying out in marine. Yes i using aluminium heat sinks. Lets see any of the living in the rocks came out dying
  14. Acutally i just place it on top of my hang on filter. The flow from the filter will bypass the heat sink thus bringing down the temp. Will post some update when got time to spare. Keep the comment and critics coming. Thanks
  15. Bro maxstar81, Thanks for the compliment, i still learing from all brothers here. I read quite a fair bit before starting this tank. I stll trying out the heat sink stuff so dunno if it will rust a not. The camera i using is those BENQ given free by starhub
  16. I got it from my brother leftover PC parts.
  17. thats a heat sink actually. Did quite well to bring down the water temp. From 31C to 26C. But of course it may be due to the cool room temp this few days.
  18. weipro 2011 w/ dymax E1200 pump used.
  19. Thanks for the encouragement. Definitly need to learn from all of you guys here. Coming up is some pictures of the equipment used.
  20. Added more rocks......not scape yet just throw in to cycle the tank.
  21. 1st day, testing out the equipment and mixing salt solution. Please feel free to comment and give some advice.. Haven't decide to go FOWLR or mixed reef tank. BTW how do i resize the pic? TIA
