Hi, My NH4 and NO2 are currently 0. I am going to get magnesium and PH test kit to do my test today. My CA is about 600 which is too high and KH around 9dKH. As for the Sandbed, I did rearrange a few large LR which reveal a whole area of smelly, and dirty sand. Skimmer [Aqua Medic floater 1000] is working very hard, with nearly 30% cup of teh every day. Currently, 1 inch of the sand is clean, the rest are still filled with brown, green, a little red stuff. My Chiller is set at 27, hence between 27-28celcius. My MH is now at 8 hours exposure From one of the earlier reply, someone spotted diatom on the brain. I saw that and remove it to a shady area of the tank. I placed another in the refrigerium area of my sump [with 19hour of Jepo PL]. I am suspecting the coral beauty angel as well as possibly some other unknown factor that cause diatom to form so readily. thanks for all advise, do let me know if there is something else I can do to help improve my water quality.

It is 5ft x 3ft x 1.5ft width My NO3- is around 10ppm, phosphate is 0.5 I have shifted that brain and one other into my sump. I think the culprit is my coral beauty who was happy snipping away. I tried for 2 hours trying to catch it but not able to. My sump has a small refigrium with 19hours of light [JEPO PL]. May be too much for them ? I will observe them for 2 days and see how they cope. Else, I am at lost about what can do about it.

Where is LCK 110 ? which lane ? Is that coral farm ? or farmmart or none of the above ? I keep seeing that abbreviation but not sure where is it.

thanks! I saw them at science center [theatre] and they are big. The biggest on my rock is currently about 8cm. i got the rock [with 8 on them] for only 5 dollars coz the uncle a bit blur.... where to get those colourful ones ? any in LFS currently ?

This is how it looks like 4 hours after the last photo was taken. I had this only for 1 day, just buy from Iwarna yesterday and that's my first and only position so far. This is directly under the MH. The flow is low. I put a small portion of silver fish on it but I dun think it was eaten, probably stolen by the clown. What can I do now ?

Hi, I am attaching a picture of my brain. It doesn't open up even with MH. I had 2 and placed one of them near the top and the other at the bottom. The one near light has small current, the one in the 'shade' has slightly stronger current. Both are still unhappy. My phosphate is 0.5, my NO3- is around 10. My Calcium too high [600] and KH at 9dkh what can I do ?

Hi, thanks for all the advise, just a little update on my situation. I measured that NO3- is around 10ppm today and my phosphate is actually 0.5 not 5. I havent get my PH and Magnesium test kit yet, and currently my Calcium is way high at 600 [using Sera] I think most of my corals are pretty okay except for my 2 open brain who doesnt look too good. I wonder if it is NO3- problem ?

I used tunze epoxy for my blue fan, and I made the mistake of sticking on a 'foundation' LR. So now all its left is a stick with red coraline algea. I think best to do minor sticking operations and try not to stick onto anything that u can take out.

I was at Iwarna yesterday and there's a SGD4 dollars, ~8" black sea cucumber. u can check if it is still there. I am still considering if it is safe for my tank

So what does it eat on the sandbed ? Mine sand are turning brown, does it eat those[as in clean it up] or is it expecting real solid algea food ? Will it hurt to have both sand shifter starfish and black cucumber together ?

Hi, I read somewhere in SRC that black sea cucumber can be used to fight diatom and algea growing on sand bed. I saw a 8" selling for SGD4. I did not buy coz not sure if they will harm those mushroom and corals that I put on my sandbed. anyone knows if it is safe to keep them ? thanks joey.

Hi, I bought an eel from another SRC member recently. Instead of feeding eels with prawn, I found a more economical substitute in supermarket. The ikan bilis is white in colour and average around 1 cm in lenght. Can I also use them to feed my brain ? have not tried yet, dun want to cause any indigestion. please advise thanks joey.

thanks bro for your advise. I will look to have a V shape formation then. In that case, maybe can get 3ft T5 over certain places of the tank. My tank is inside a cupboard so I can hide the ugly light setup then. thanks for all your advises joey

not to doubt your advise but I thought we are not supposed to disturb the sandbed ? changing 25% very week is 150l of water to me. I have very little livestock and I think I will not go to such a drastic measure unless it is absolutely necessary. Too much disturbance to the water parameters.

Hi, I did a search on web and it seems like there are T5 tube for 60" http://www.thegoldfishbowl.co.uk/lighting_t5.html Is T5 better than T8 ? T8 are bigger rite and by putting them in front of your MH, would that obstruct your MH ? how many T8 do u have in front of your MH ? U have pic of your setup ? My 2x150MH is ceiling mounted and so I can adjust it higher up to accomodate the T8, but I just did not want to waste their power thanks joey.
