i dun use plenum. i'm using 6 inch DSB grade 0 70% & grade 1 30% in main tank. suggest u use yr sump for refugium instead of DSB. too small a space for DSB will not be effective. IMO. cheers

hi there, i bot a 2nd hand chiller 1/3 hp without brand, think is made in M'sia. i'm using 2 x 20k mh light on a 4ft tank. i set my chiller at 26 degree. notice it runs for average 30mins every 1 hr. i think my water heat up very fast not only b'cos of the MH, but also due to using too many PH. 1 for chiller, 1 for skimmer, 2 for water return from sump & 1 for circulation in tank. so will like to know for those who is using chiller, how long yr chiller runs. thks very much.

sjsheng, how long have u keep yr YT & wat u feed it? Thru my pass experience, diet problem. Have same prom b4. Try feeding it with nori (those dried seaweed sold in NTUC). Feed it everyday for a few weeks & it should grow back. cheers

hi bros, exact same prom here. mine is 8 mths old. can't tahan when look at those LFS display tank, fat like balloon. have ask Ha****i once how they do it. they said they feed their fish (in the display tank) 3 times a day. but then agagin, they change water like 3-4 days once. so i also give up. ha ha ha.........

other than the various reasons other reefers bought up, the height of the 5ft is much deeper than the old 2ft. so light may not be enough.

hi bum, wa...! to put such beautiful creature in the sump is such a waste, IMO. i dun have any PH in the tank except the overflow which is covered. any other things i sud look out for b4 buying it, other than it dieing & releasing toxic??? thks.

based on my own experience, 24/7 or 12/7 depends on the algae u grow. my fern & grape turn assexual when using 12/7. only the hairy string type (sorry, still dun know the name) survived. Bro bwilly, wud u be so kind to post a pic of this "hairy string" type algae u bought for me & hope that someone can name it. anyway, with 24/7, the macro algae will definitely work overtime. u will experience very fast grow & u need to crop it regularly. IMO, it good for exporting nutrients. also constant supplying of oxygen 24/7 by means of photosynthesis. not sure abt the efect on ph though.

hi all, thks for the adv. i'm using rowaphos & weipro 2012 skimmer. return pump from sump is 1x2500l/h & 1x5500l/h. also add 1x1600l/h PH in the main tank. so it is normal to have this for a 3 mth old & i sud not disturb it, rite?? will try to take a pic when i borrow a digicam. thks.
