  1. 440 litres or 110 gallons of tank water. It is over-dosing based on the manufacturer's recommended dosage levels but with the state of some of the sps corals and virtually zero iodine levels, I needed to do something quickly to rectify the situation. Once things have reversed, I switched to a maintenance level dosage regime.
  2. I haven't tested strontium but I do dose Fauna Marin MinS which is a cocktail of elements including strontium.
  3. In my case, I change 5% of my tank water on a weekly basis. What apparently happened is that tanks with carbon dosing regimes (I had a few message exchanges with some overseas reefers who faced similar situations) and wet skimming depletes iodine levels quickly. I utilize Fauna Marin Bacto Balls hence the result. Aggressive + more efficient skimming from bacteria consuming N+P = Loss of Iodine from tank water. Hence, regular water changes cannot keep up with the demand by my corals and thus the need for dosing iodine to supplement.
  4. Another tell-tale sign of a zero level of iodine in your reef tank is the brittleness of your SPS coral skeletons (on top of STN from the tips). The tips are easily snapped off and crushed with your bare hands.
  5. From the week that just past after commencing iodine dosing, I swear by it now. Some of my SPS corals had STN at the tips and looked beat up. After discussing with some reefers from a UK reefing forum, I dosed Coontinum's Iodine solution everyday for a week (10 ML per day). STN stopped, polyps came out, LPS coral tissue became more inflated and colours and growth bounced back. Carbonate consumption shot up as evidenced by the drop in my daily dkh test results. I had to redial my calcium reactor to compensate. I would suggest once everything is back on track from such an STN episode due to a lack of iodine, a maintenance dosage should be done with say 2-3 dosages per week.
  6. Tonga shipment of LPS, SPS and plenty of the famed Tonga Stylophoras are available at Seasonal Aquarium.
  7. Thanks chief! I am using the preset Radion SPS AB+ setting at 60% intensity at 10 inches off the water surface. A higher setting would bleach some of my SPS corals.
  8. Fiji lobophyllia. It's been with me for more than 4 years.
  9. Awesome skimmer and SPS corals! I first noticed the Nyos skimmer due to its sexy and sleek design 18 months ago and am Glad it's available locally now although I am still sticking to my tried and trusted Deltec 2060.
  10. Thanks! I use Fauna Marin's Zeo-Light system and nothing else.
  11. Full tank shot. It's an in-wall design with a tiny "fish room" behind.
  12. I started a new tank in August 2016 after moving homes. It's a 110 gallon 4 ft X 2 ft X 22 inches with a Bean Animal overflow and lit by 3 Radion 30XR Pro Gen 3s. Decided to try Radions after seeing and reading many good results which include the experiences of reefing gurus like Michael Paletta and Sanjay Joshi. Some photos to share. There will more to come....
  13. Thanks Leon. Will check Prestech out.
  14. Yes I have the hanging kit. Will check out Prestech as another reefer has kindly pointed out.
  15. Does any reefer know where I can buy railings to hang my ATI Sunpower fixture from? Somewhat like what Harlequin Mania (admin) uses in his tank room.
  16. As a precaution, use half dosage as per your total water volume as it's very potent although very effective.
  17. Yes it is. Perhaps even a bit longer than a metre.
  18. Skimmer has been sold. The thread can be closed. Thanks for the support.
