  1. Per title, looking for aquabee 5000. PM me if you have WTS
  2. I have been running skimmer (AquaC EV120) before I switch to only TAF for a year plus. Tried running only TAF since Nov 2008 until last week (total 408days) and I found that my tank has lots of tube worms growing on the sandbed, LR and even on the glass. However, just added a Deltec APF600 last week to run together with my TAF. IMO, TAF operates differently with skimmer, its all depends on what your want: Skimmer – Design to remove the DOC from the tank water before it degrade to NO3 and PO4 which TAF is unable to remove. TAF – The algae grow naturally will absorb the NO3 and PO4 in the tank water but the water will remain full of DOC (or dirt). TAF: Adv: Preserve food for coral and all micro organisms in the tank. Adv: Absorb NO3 and PO4 from tank water and export when cleaning. Adv: Cheap and easy to setup. Disadv: Will left lots of dirt in the tank. Disadv: Need to clean the algae periodically, if not the algae die off will release the NO3 and PO4 back to tank Skimmer: Adv: Provide more surface for water and air surface thus tank water is more oxygen rich. Adv: Remove DOC and dirt from tank. Hence tank is cleaner than only TAF. Adv: Cleaning is easier than TAF. Disadv: Unable to remove NO3 and PO4 from tank. Disadv: The initial investment will be high to have an efficient skimmer. From what I have observed: Both TAF and skimmer will increase the temp in tank. TAF is from the light and Skimmer from pump Both need periodic cleaning. Both also consuming almost equal amount of power. Light and Pump. As I mentioned, currently I am using both TAF and Skimmer with running independently. TAF on18hr/off6hrs and skimmer is 24hrs. Never test the NO3 yet but I did test the NO3 while I am only running TAF with salifert testkit. My NO3 can achieve < 5ppm without skimmer and WC for > 6 months.

  8. Looking for a 2nd hand chiller, I am from Malaysia and going to Sing on 15 or 18 April.... so if dealed, will only collect and pay on those day.
  9. My tank is ~50G / 200L, which chiller should I use?
  10. What is the return pump rate you guys are using? I am using Rio20HF (5000lph) as return and Rio14HF (3000lph) as weipro 2013 skimmer pump. Thinking of switch it but 3000lph as return will it be too low? or 5000lps for 2013 will be too high?? My tank dimension as below in my signature.
  11. That is Hock Lye AQ, maybe the time you went is not right. Sometime when the shipment arrive, there is lots of fish and coral.
  12. I used to have an angel also... keep nipping on my zoos.
  13. near komtar for 4 LFS wor. Which you went to? then 3 story building?
  14. you are right also. custom dont allow.
  15. The first photo your show is not DI unit. Just a regular water filter unit used. There's few more LFS in penang that you may want to go. Come join us in malaysia marine club. Below link is the map to the LFS. http://www.chuisui.com/viewthread.php?tid=3297
  16. qunzo, I think clintcar is right. The DI water is not good for human consumption. Dont forget, for SW use, you will mix salt before add into your tank. Or is topup, your tank has already filled with those required mineral. If you drink it, there is only (or near) H20 without any mineral. If you dont believe, you can try some FW fish to put into your DI water. Then observed if no mineral, what's will happen. JMHO, if the DI water is good, why no one is promoting it? The market only promoting the filtered water, and even RO water, they also fix a mineral source at the end.
  17. Where is the initial blue mushroom?
  18. oic, after you treat the 7G and pour back to the tank. Is the effect still there??? I mean the FeSO4 is it still reacting after you have filter it?
  19. I still dont understand on the repeat 5 times. Are you saying you repeated the whole process for 5 times to change 100% of your tank water? But you did mentioned that you just treated 7G out of your 40G to get the low PO4 reading. Which is correct? or I have misunderstand the repeat 5 times.
