Going back to this article, final results(colour/growth) is very much depends on individual liking. There is a more detailed report in German with more pictures. This is the link. I'm using Oceanic. So far so good. No algae problem. Maybe its due to overfeeding, 'under-skimming' or 'dead' zones in the tank water...

Bare bottom is ok as it reduces the possibilities of 'stray' sand mess-up if internal circulation pumps are too strong or due to fishes... If corals are place on it, it may look a bit bare. Not so pleasing to see. So for this case, with sand will be better. But its solely depends on individual....

Hi Bro Nakurozu, Your DIY LED project has already create a BIG buss in this reefer community laio! Beside you, bro AlexCWoo has DIY them a few months back and I must say, its very impressive. Hope he has some updates soon. There is also a forum tread in reef central under 'Lighting, filtration and other equipment' where Solaris LED lighting system was discuss... We know thier 'life span' is very looong, lets say one LED is down, can this faulty LED unit be remove and replaced with a new one? So... in short, I'll closely follow yr DIY LED tread

This will be an interesting lighting concept!! Saw the PFO's Solaris Luxeon LEDs unit in Aquarama last week. Very low heat generated under the LED lightings. I must say its very impressive. But its cost is ~$1k per feet length As now there are 2 players in the market (the other is Aquaillumination using Seoul Semiconductor LEDs, which has higher PAR output to Luxeon's), cost is still way above traditional lightings. But I believe its cost will be lower in the future. Fellow reefers will be paying close attention to this new lighting concept!! Well done Nakazoru BTW, does yr 'unit' comes with programable or dimmable option and cooling fans?

Fully agree with Alvin. Its tentacles can stretch to ~4" long, its drift direction is along with the flow wave. It stung or even kill corals whenever its tips comes into contact..... It needs alot of room

When I change from fish only to LPS tank, my angels started to nip at my clams and other LPS. I'm so angry that I decided to remove them once ond for all. But the method I do is remove all LPS & some LRs. Take one whole dam day. Very siong.... From then on, NO more angels or other non-reef safe fish liao.

Do you keep LPS? If only fishes, 50ppm is ok. But it is better to lower them. Tested my area tap water is 5ppm. It goes up after normal feeding and waste buildup. With regular water changes, control feeding and a good skimmer, NO3 can be control to 20~30ppm. This can be further be lowered by using DI water, use Denitrator or as you said add suger.

I also use RIO 20HF for my 24" beckett skimmer. OK so far....

Hi Dominik, I bought it fr Iwarna. Dispensed it above water and carefully 'stick' to 'wanted' surface. Use it to hold sun coral & a few zoo colonies. So far so good.

I use AquaPharm rock bonder. Part A mix with B to harden. Also use Selley's quick fix super glue. Advantage here is its fast curing.

I'm using 3/4HP for my 5ft LPS tank. Run for ~1.5hrs and kick-in ~4hrs later(T5 lightings) Derek provides good advice and services Made In Singapore Product!

I'm also using Aquaz PO4 remover and my PO4 is at 0.025-0.030ppm. Its comparable to Rowa. Considering its lower cost, I can say its value for money
