  1. Hi guys, not sure if anyone here's into acapella music other than reefing An acapella group of mine will be performing at YMS (young musician's society) on 6th Aug, 8:30. We'll be performing an eclectic repertoire of mostly jazz & pop, so if its your cup of tea do come down! Tickets are 9 bux (non-profit concert) Interesting dudes can PM me for further details and repertoire. Kam Sia
  2. Borders has it. I used to buy an issue every month, but not any more. Then it was 10 dollars per copy, i believe the price has gone up slightly.
  3. Looks like filamentous hair algae alright. Get that rock, and whatever others that are affected out of the tank and give it a good scrub. Dont scrub it in the tank water. Do regular water changes, and keep your nitrates and phosphates low. Get your calcium and alk to appropriate levels, to get good coralline growth on your LR. Never let it proliferate further. Once it goes out of hand, it will be hell hard to eradicate. Good luck!
  4. Hi lightningstrike, Such unexpected things happen when we're away. For me, my MM caulerpa scrubber crashed, and there wasnt anyone to help me change my water so hair algae took over completely and killed everything in its path, my Yumas, my Floridas all my LPSes. Dont be discouraged by the failure! You're very fortunate to have so many responsible nannies helping you babysit your tank, as well as having most of your livestock still alive. You will have plenty of time to restart on SPS once you're back, like how I'm restocking now! Cheers~
  5. I actually like FAMA better, less pictures, more words... can read for a more extended period... more worth the $
  6. Shit lor, really regret not quarantining the little bugger, but his stressed up chrevron colouration was making me panic, so I just dumped him in. Bah~ Yeah hope our darlings are resilient! hehe
  7. Mine only eats LARGE whole mysis or brine, but he eats it so ravenously. He wont touch cyclopeeze or even Henry's food! As long as he's eating, I'm not overly worried, as Roidan says, hope that the condition doesnt become full blown! Strange that all our ABTs got it to a certain extent...
  8. Dosing either will be a problem, unless I can catch that little bugger out, but he's too fast (or maybe I'm too slow) I've been trying to get some information off the net, but I havent been productive. Roidan, do you have any idea if FW dips will be effective in our cases?
  9. Thats strange! My Atlantic Blue also has whitish growths on its fins too! I suspect it' lymphocytosis though. Possibly parasites on the majority of the shipment?
  10. I personally feel that potential isnt the issue here. I was here when SRC, or even its predecessor was first set up. Then, there were only a small number of people into this hobby, but yet tons of information was being shared and conveyed through the forum. But it has since morphed into something else quite ugly. Initially, the weekly LFS report pages ran into the 10s and 20s, with pple keen and enthusiastic to share their information, but lately, the report pages have been getting skimpier and skimpier. Pple have become reluctant to share their knowledge of incoming shipments or even lifestock already in the shops just so that there would be fewer pple chionging the shipments. Such behaviour can possibly be attributed to the introduction of the member's tanks sections. The droolsome specimens brought out the ugliest in some of us - Jealousy, selfishness, greed etc.. This is not to say that the section should be abolished. Rather we should be more self-conscious when viewing the threads. Some of us here are simply more well off than others, unfortunately, I'm not one of them. In my opinion, there's nothing more that can be done at this point of time to salvage the situation. The damage done is permanant, us scarred. All we can do is to attempt to cut down on idle chatter, but thats only superficial. Sincerely hope that the cordial yet semi-formal, knowledge based forum will be reinstated.
  11. I see Have you gotten your Coeruleus to feed? Mine eats Mysis and ONLY mysis. Rejects everything else, ie flake, nori, even Henry's recipe
  12. 1. A. Coeruleus as in Acanthurus Coeruleus? Thats the Atlantic Blue Tang. The atlantic blue is quarrelsome as a juvenile, but has been noted to tone down on maturity. 2. The Purple tang is a Zebrasoma, not an Acanthurus.
  13. Hi dear forum admin, Was wondering if its a problem only for mac users or just me, but Ive been getting this msg everytime I open any SRC page. 'The page “Singapore Reef Club -> Site Feedback and Suggestions” has content of MIME type “\"application/x-shockwave-flash\"”. You do not have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, but one should be available on this page: http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/ download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash Do you want to open the page?" I followed the link and downloaded the lastest flash player, but the problem still exists. Was wondering if its got anything to do with the 'current time' thingy on the left, cos i cant see that. Thanx very much!
  14. I was thinking possibly parasites or toxins. Well, possibly just a coincidence
