  1. Amazing! Too bad Moby Dick wasnt caught on tape. Yeps, i've seen numerous documentary about giant squids and other bizarre deep sea creatures on Discovery Channel. Very interesting stuff.
  2. Hi bros, I have a juvenile naso tang. Been 2 weeks already and hasent eat anything yet. My other Sailfin and Unicorn tang are very greedy. This Naso of mine just swims with the herd and not intersted in eating. Any bros, pls advise as my Mr Naso is getting skinnier by the day. cheers.
  3. To answer some questions... Yes this deceased octopus has only 4 legs. Let me share the story with you guys... Received a sms from a friend at 2 a.m in the morning. He said he caught a baby octopus and thought that i might want to keep it as i am keeping marine fishes. He happen to catch that octopus while fishing and the reason of having only 4 legs is because the other 4 had been used by him as a fishing bait! Oh my! But he reassured me that it'll eventually grow back. So, i collect it from him in the afternoon. so happy. But misfortune killed the poor creature. Such octopus are commonly caught while fishing here in my country Brunei. (where fishing and fish-keeping is a past-time) Bro corneyfish, As mentioned, my octopus is from the deep blue sea. Wild-caught as a better term for it. So here is a pic after i fossilized it.. 65 million years in the making.....
  4. Hi all, Is this a Fire Clown ? Hope can share more about it's characteristics and which kind of anemone does it host. Cheers.
  5. Ok it died. I really am speechless... I want to question myself.. why did it die? Possibilities: 1) Acclimitation period too fast. 2) Drastic change in water chemistry. Cant believe the life of a beautiful creature ended in my hands... Anyone who has tried keeping this amazing invert, care to share some stories? As for now, i'm speehless...
  6. nah..my bro's book. using it as a white background for the pic. My octopus is not doing very well Acclimate it for 30 mins. Put it inside the tank and it start squirting ink. It's body very placid, with constant change in colour. Wasnt as active as it was when it was in it's original water. sigh! Will update again later...
  7. My new pet. Aint he cute?
  8. Provided the wool is not too fine else it'll dramatically slow down the flow. But still clogs up fast. Need washing every week. As for flow, with wool or no wool not much diff. Dipped my hands into the tank to 'feel' the flow.
  9. Yellow Fin Tuna, This is what i did to prevent anemone reef-shakes. Covered the intake grill of the powerhead with a piece of sponge or wool. At least the suction is not that strong to rip the anemones should it wander too near the powerhead. Hope this helps for you.
  10. Hi Bro. Nice tank u got there. Really like your mangrove-in-sump method. Hope to see your tank bloom. more pics ! Btw, where did u obtain those mangrove plants?
  11. Hi Midnight Angel, Nice scaping. I like your Purple-Tang. Hope to see more pics soon.
  12. Hi bros, Some pics of my elusive little eel I guess it's the aroma of pieces of prawns which i feed to my anemones that lured the sensitive eel our from it's lair. I still have not been sucessful in identifying this species of eel yet. I especially like to see when it slithers between those live rocks like a serpent! I've also witnessed my Fire-Shrimp hanging around the eel's mouth and head. The eel seems unbothered. What a pair they make. I also have another bigger eel of the same species that polished off 4 of my Damsels already. It's in a 2 feet tank sentenced to solitary confinement now. In the pics here, the eel is trying to nip a piece of prawn from the purple-tip anemone. It jerks back its head hard when one of the anemone's tentacles touches its face. Enjoy the pics.
  13. My Fireshrimp is very bold. Always venturing out into the open. Always see it hang out around my eel's mouth, cleaning the inside! My fav shrimp, Fireshrimp though i never had any Skunk Cleaners before. Hope 2 get skunks cleaners soon! As for Fire Shrimp, their crimson red is totally awesome. . .the star of my tank. Ppl when see it always say "Wah so ang one your lobster"
