  5. thanks bro lemon for replying. as what he mentioned, this is not the best workflow for reefers to id fish. however when we have more resources, we will definitely adapt the database to a more reefer friendly interface also if anyone don't mind contributing photos to the database, please do pm or email me. thanks!
  6. pm will be sent soon! hehe i need help again if you can spare the time during your holidays. =)
  7. some pages allow for multiple selection, for example under habitat and behavior pages which is why the next button is there. will look into this on how to reduce the no of clicks, thanks!
  8. Hi all, I have a small project that I was working on previously and would like you all to help give me some feedback on it. Basically its a system that aims to help scuba divers identify marine animals online. It can be used by biologists, reefers and fishermen too Currently I only have limited data in the database for Fish category and most bugs have been sorted out (i hope) so its kindof in open beta mode on a make shift server. connection might be a little slow so pls bear with it. http://fids.scubuddies.com/ no specific format for feedback, just shoot n i'll try and make sense of it. =) thanks all! also thanks to bro Lemon who helped me on the project! credit will be give where credit is due once this goes online proper.
  9. just read through the whole thread.. i must say this is quite an interesting idea. here's my challenge for the club members.. see if you can limit your frags for trade to corals that you have propagated yourself. since rics n zoas grow really well under the right conditions, I think this is definitely possible and would help the sustainability of our beloved hobby. also since its called the frags exchange club, limit it to just frags exchange and remove the bulk purchasing idea. as you mentioned, as the group grows it'll be impossible to coordinate bulk purchasing. would love to join the club but am currently too busy with work so won't be able to contribute much.. but when i'm 'back', will definitely apply for membership. hehe good luck!
  10. ohhh so this is how they look like... nice. pls breed them well, alot of us will definitely benefit from these. nice critters that are at least sustainable if you have a bryopsis or algae infestation in your tank. maybe its time for me to sell my abalone.. hehe
  11. collection at bukit timah, near beauty world. this fri night or sat afternoon if possible. thanks
  12. have new plans... need money for new collection. pls support fluorescent green maze, clenched fist size - $25 reddish eagle eyes, clenched fist size - $35 greenish paly, slightly bigger than yakult can size - $25 green US zoa, rock slightly bigger than clenched fist size- $35 firecracker US zoa, comes with 2 big red spotted mushroom, > 20 polyps. in picture it is the colony on the left of the trumpet. - $25 red n yellowish eagle eyes(green eagle eyes behind not included), rock bigger than clenched fist size - $35. disclaimer : last weekend some red polyps not opening due to FW dip to clear flatworms but sunnies are all open.. coral package - $160 deltec mc500 - $280
  13. have been using purple up w/ kalk top up. works great! can see the fast coralline growth. i dose irregularly too, only on weekends and max once a day. i realize even though i shake before dosing each time, the fluid inside the bottle runs out quicker than the whitish stuff in the bottle... so i just add more DI water in and shake it and continue to use.
  14. try deltec MC500. its a good intank hangon skimmer. nicely designed n neater if u compare with weipro.... if u want i have one to let go, pm me.

  19. some zoa closeups. very nice collection radioactive birdnest? sunrise digi?
  20. went to visit bro reefzzz the other day.. snapped some photos and batch post processed them. hope they dun look too fake... didn't have time to process them one by one but the photos turned out quite okay enjoy!! v nice cloves that were growing on the back of the tank too light house! tank shots chili pepper monti red prata for the new year awesome multi-colored chalice... i want a frag! if it is even fraggable....
  21. a tank w/ coral without chiller can be done. it depends on where your tank is placed, if it is a well ventilated place, using fan to cool the tank n evaporate the water might not be a bad idea. at least that's what i'm doing for the past 2 months.
  22. 8w light should be ok for fish only tank. dun think u'll need fan as there is not much heat generating equip in the setup. fan will only speed up evaporation which will cause salinity swing if u are not deligent in topping up water. the amount of rocks looks just nice... since its a relatively small tank, do read up on the fishes and their requirements before adding any. i see that you already have a blue devil damsel in there which can be a real bully.... external filter also not quite necessary since u already have hang on filters. if need be can just chuck these media into the filters. also with deligent water changing n modest feeding, your water quality should be okay. have fun in the hobby, remember to do your own research and take your time in setting up your tank. that's part of the fun in this hobby!
