  5. those tentacles mean either one of 2 things. it is either an antedecent to RTN. Or it can be under chemical warfare with another coral. Sometimes its just a transient thing and not to worry. in any case...just wait and watch bro. jon

  8. great looking tank bro...looks like all the shit u went through finally paid off
  9. great looking tank bro....ur attention to detail is great. i think ur parents insistence has made you to strive to make the tank look so neat!!!!!! however if possible to try to shift your automatic air freshner on top somewhere else. don;t think its good for your tank. great work anyway . potential to look really nice...take your time. jon
  10. hi loster.... i hope not to offend you or anything but i think the lights do play a part. high intensity lighting does promote algae growth. especially if there is a change from a lower levels of lighting. and you are rite...trace elements such as phosphates do contribute significantly. jon
  11. hi guys... are they pecking on ur LR??? if not is they any algae for them to peck at. make sure that there is ample hiding places for them plus some algae. suprisingly i have read that the dreadful hair algae is one of their favourite foods. jon
  12. the birdnest is one of my favourites along with the purple monitpora digita and also the green stylo (i guess i am just being carried away here!!!) please update us the progress bro. really liked ur piece there. jon
  13. hi bro, sad to hear that your sps is not doing very well. don;t worry. they are like that. tendency to develop RTN are more likely for things like hysterix. Once the signs develop there is usually little or nothing that one can do to reverse it. However if your sps still has some pink bits left, why not frag it and leave it at different places in your tank. its still a hit or miss thing but IMO worth trying. jon
  14. hey think your tank is almost complete in terms of equiptment eh? congratulations...maybe the last step in a RO unit and a calcium reactor. btw the nitrata reductor is not simple plug and play device. requires constant monitoring...think u should invest in an ORP.
