your fish probably had died many days ago, thus the cocoon like thing, this due to the bacteria colonising it.
as to why the head is missing...best bet is some kinda fierce predators, but dun think its mantis, cos mantis will eat the rest of the fish except the head, not the other way round.

got an idea, can the carbon put into the tank coz i am using external filter for this 2ft, not sump tank like other.. a bit leceh to remove the cap lar..

am planning to do a bulk purchase for TDS meter.
Specs as follows.
Price to be confirm depending on quantity but shouldn't be more than $50 SGD.

Apparently, the one that stays red thru out the nite is the real peppermint shrimp - lysmata wurdemanni.
The "fake" peppermint have very similar strips as the real McCoy but fades or loses its colouring in the nite time.
as for whether they feed on aiptasia....its like playing the roulette.

I hate to say this but i gathered that most of the newer reefers dun like me
but seriously, i dun give a hoot and as long as the regulars know my style, can liaoz....
i dun see the need to come in here and help help help and end up on the wrong side. Frankly, this is the REASON why reefers like morgan, robe,tanzy and the rest aren't bothered to dish out advises anymore...
a very good example --> check out the lastest post by cookiemunster...
anyway, thats just my bloody 2 cents.
