Yeap.....i think its a wiser choice to give up the hobby temperorary till i can afford something which will make maintenance easier. Hrmz, 1 very important thing to consider when you get your lighting, whats the ht of your tank? If it isn't that tall, HO T5s are more than sufficient to keep your corals happy. I've got 2 clams under them too. If im not wrong, a bro here keeps his SPS under T5s only too. Personally i dislike the hear emitted from Mh, switched back to T5s after a week.

HMRz, shrimps are very very sensitive to Sg levels. Acclimatising them certainly helps to prevent death. Is your tank temperature very warm and are your tangs haressing the shrimps? After acclimatising, i'll just tip the bag over and let them swim slowly into the tank. No deaths so far.

Erm, im not sure if they are really called red grape algae. They are exactly the same colour as the red bamboo algae. looks totally different from the green ones. The red "grapes" are pretty small. Will try and find a pic and let you see. Reborn normally have them...

I think you better check with AM directly, they will proberbly be able to understand your problem better than most of us here with the brief details you've given.
